Any kind of light has three elements, namely intensity, direction and hue.

Intensity of light

Intensity describes the intensity of light,

The light emitted by various light sources has a certain intensity.

Strong direct light will cause obvious shadows and clearly show the outline of the object.

Reduce the intensity of light. Compared with strong light, the light and shadow effect of astigmatism is softer and more natural.

The light receiving surface of the main body can be uniform, the contrast is moderate, and the directivity of the light source is limited.

Another kind of light is the so-called "diffuse light"

The kind of light that has no obvious directionality on cloudy days is the so-called diffuse light.

Unlike the two light sources mentioned above, diffuse light has almost no shadow.

Bresson, a famous photographer, is a master of controlling diffuse light.

Illuminance, commonly known as lux,

Represents the luminous flux per unit area of the surface of the object being photographed.

Illuminance is an important index to measure the shooting environment.

When the sunshine is strongest at noon in summer, the outdoor illumination can reach more than 100000 lux.

Most indoor illuminance is below 300lux. Illuminance is not only related to the luminous intensity of the light source,

But also the distance from the light source to the object.

Generally, when the distance between the object and the light source is constant,

The illuminance of the photographed object is directly proportional to the luminous intensity of the light source;

On the contrary, when the luminous intensity of the light source is unchanged, but the distance from the object changes,

The illuminance on an object is roughly inversely proportional to the square of the distance.

The aperture change when using a flash is based on this principle.

Another rule is that when the light source irradiates the precursor and the afterbody,

The closer the light source is, the greater the illumination difference between the two objects.

The farther the light source is, the closer the two objects receive light.
