Huangyao Ancient Town, a famous town in Guangxi. There are more than 600 families and eight streets in the town, and most of the houses keep the Ming and Qing styles. Because of Huang Yao's special geographical position, surrounded by mountains, it is easy to defend but difficult to attack, and the traffic is inconvenient, the villages and towns are in a semi-closed state, which makes the ancient dwellings and many cultural relics preserved. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, it was designated as a base area behind enemy lines, and a large number of patriots came to Huangyao from Guilin. These cultural relics and former residences are still well preserved, such as the ink marks of Han Yu and Liu Zongbiao, the memorial hall of the former site of Guangxi Provincial Working Committee, the statue of Qian Xing martyr, the apartments of cultural celebrities such as He Xiangning, Gao Shiqi and Qian Jiaju, and many poems and inscriptions.

Huangyao ancient town is known as "dream home". Fiona Fang Town covers an area of 3.6 square kilometers and is a typical karst landform. There are many caves, pavilions, temples, ancestral temples, ancient trees and couplets in the town. Where there are mountains, there is water, where there is water, there is a bridge, where there is a bridge, where there is a pavilion, and where there are couplets, there are plaques, which constitute the unique scenery of the ancient town. All the ancient streets are inlaid with blue slabs, and the roads are as smooth as mirrors. The buildings in the town are arranged in the form of nine palaces and eight diagrams, belonging to Lingnan style buildings, which are integrated with the surrounding environment. Known as the "art palace of perfect combination of man and nature", it is an ancient town with natural landscape gardens. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, many famous patriots in China lived here. The beautiful scenery of Huangyao ancient town has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Tvbi's "Hometown Tea is Strong" and "Hometown Wine is Alcohol" crew made a special trip to Huang Yao to shoot the location. The exterior of Tea Mountain in Tea Country is mainly Zhaoping organic tea garden, and the tea making and frying are all shot in Huang Yao's tea workshop. Traditional tea-making workshops and steaming techniques in the Tang and Song Dynasties are preserved in the scenic spot. Visitors can also taste the three major teas in Qiu Ge: Leicha, Micha and Matcha, which are handmade according to the traditional ancient town and boiled with the living spring of the ancient well of the ancient town fairy. [Edit this paragraph] Huangyao Scenic Area
It is a typical karst landform with towering peaks, deep caves, clear streams and towering old trees. There are eight scenic spots and twenty-four small scenic spots in the natural landscape. There are more than 20 temples and pavilions 10, mostly in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The famous ones are Wenming Pavilion, Baozhuguan, Xingyu Temple, Lion Temple, Ancient Stage, Wu Jia Temple, Guojia Temple, Zuo Long Temple, Jianlong Temple, Dragon Bridge, Hulong Bridge and Natural Pavilion.
There are eight streets in the town. Most of the houses are in the Ming and Qing styles, and the streets are paved with bluestone slabs. There are also the ink marks of Han Yu and Liu Zongbiao, the memorial hall of the former site of the Guangxi Provincial Working Committee, the statue of Qian Xing martyrs, the apartments of cultural celebrities such as He Xiangning, Gao Shiqi and Qian Jiaju, and many poems and inscriptions. Of course, the first thing to go to Huangyao is to see the ancient town. Now the ancient town has begun to charge 68 yuan/person (student 30 yuan), which is very expensive. There is no toll station in the ancient town. Basically, people from tour groups are pulled to the entrance of the square in the ancient town by coach to buy tickets collectively. Self-help donkeys can freely enter and leave the ancient town from many intersections. But don't think that going in and out of the ancient town is really that free. There are people in the town who catch tourists to make up tickets, especially in the morning and afternoon. Several scenic spots in the ancient town, Longqiao, tea plantation and village entrance. There are many small scenes in the ancient town, which is good and a good place for photographers. Even if you are not a color friend, you can slowly realize the simplicity, coolness and remoteness of the ancient town. Walk along the river next to the ancient town to the Civilization Museum, which is very idyllic and has a good scenery.
A place worth visiting.
On the hill next to the ancient town (red flag inserted), you can see the whole picture of Huangyao Town. The local children are volunteer guides and can climb mountains with them.
Civilization Pavilion: This is a small temple built on the hill. When local villagers worship the gods, they will continue to climb in the Civilization Museum. There is a platform for local people to beg for rain. When they climb up, they can see rivers and pastoral farms. There is a lawn under the Civilization Museum. Huang Yao's children will definitely encourage you to set off fireworks and barbecue at night. It's not bad to see the stars here. But after the barbecue, don't forget to pack up the garbage bags and fireworks, and take away the paper towels and other sundries (paper towels won't destroy the ecology, but they are thrown everywhere, which is also dazzling and unsightly). I have also said these words to local children, but I wonder if they will always remember to remind tourists. I hope that all your friends will continue to remind you of environmental protection and warn other tourists.
Zhou Jia Reservoir: It's about three or four kilometers to Zhaoping. Take an electric tricycle/KLOC-0 yuan, or walk. There are 20 public bamboo rafts in this reservoir. You can use them at will, but you must pay attention to safety. On the way to the reservoir, the pastoral scenery on both sides is very good. The unique yellow brick walls and vertical and horizontal buildings in this area feel very soft. Looking back at the ancient town, the karst landform peaks stand behind the town, simple and beautiful.
Holidays and festivals
When I was in Huangyao, I checked the local old monthly magazine and saw two festivals. Once on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, singing a big drama on the ancient stage; The other is the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month. There is a custom of offering sacrifices to the river god (putting grapefruit lights into the river at night), and the ceremony lasts about 2-3 hours. In a word, Huang Yao can't be played in a day, nor can he be felt overnight. It takes some time to understand. The folk customs here are simple and ancient, which makes people feel that time flies. [Edit this paragraph] Huangyao traffic train
On September 28th, 2009, Hezhou ended the history of no trains. Visitors can go directly to Hezhou from railway stations all over the country, and then transfer to Zhaoping by bus.
automobile
There is no direct coach from Guangzhou to Huangyao Ancient Town, so it takes eight steps to get from Guangzhou to Hezhou.
The shuttle bus from Guangzhou to Hezhou is taken at Huanshi West Road Provincial Station, which runs five times a day and leaves in the afternoon. The fare is 80 yuan.
The shuttle bus from Guilin to Huangyao takes the bus at Guilin bus terminal, with only 9:00 and 13:00 every day.
Taxi from Hezhou to Huangyaobao 1 10 yuan; Returning from Huangyao to Hezhou, if you are lucky, you only need 60 yuan to intercept the return taxi;
There are two roads from Hezhou to Huangyao:
One is to go to Zhongshan (40 kilometers, about 50 minutes' drive, and the fare is 4-5 yuan), and then take the shuttle bus from Zhongshan to Gongqiao, passing through Tonggu and other places. Before arriving at Gongqiao, it is Huang Yao (50 kilometers, the shuttle bus takes about 2.5 hours, and the fare is 8 yuan). The road conditions are good.
Another way is to take the eight-step shuttle bus to the arch bridge (66 kilometers, the fare is 8 yuan), and there is only one bus every day, which is a private car. Take the mountain road, pass the guild (4 1 km), and then drive to Gongqiao (28 km). It is easy to be "sold pigs" in the guild. There are many electric tricycles from Gongqiao to Huangyao, about 5 kilometers, and one person can get there for one yuan. The road from Hezhou to the guild is being repaired and bumped for 4.5 hours.
The shuttle bus leaving Huangyao is also the above two routes:
The earliest bus from Huangyao to Babu is 6.30, 9 yuan/person. Slow speed, sometimes not even driving, not recommended; The earliest bus from Gongqiao to Zhongshan is 7.50, and you can wait at the gate of the county government or the roadside, preferably 15-20 minutes in advance, which is relatively stable. There are three buses from Huangyao to Zhongshan every day: 8.30, 1 1.30 and 3.00. [Edit this paragraph] Huang Yao recommended hotels for accommodation. The guest house is the tallest building in Huangyao. You can see the whole town from the rooftop on the sixth floor, which is also an excellent place to watch the sunrise in the morning. Fee per day 10 yuan. The prices of other hotels are basically the same. There is a Huangyao hotel on the street, where you can eat and live.

Eat and drink: Huangyao tofu is a local specialty, there are two kinds of tofu and tofu, you should try both. Huang Yao also has fresh Pleurotus ostreatus and Lentinus edodes. The dishes are very fresh and sweet. There are grass carp and carp in the market. However, there are not many restaurants in Huang Yao and he is not very good at cooking. The dishes are all fried, so you can't find Guangdong clay pot rice. The food cooked in Guzhen Restaurant is delicious, while the hotel diagonally opposite is deserted. Basically, we order food first and then go to the market to buy it, but it's cheaper than Guzhen restaurant. In addition, there is a porridge shop opposite the square, which has porridge such as chicken, frog and pond lice. , a pot of 10 yuan, open as usual at night. There are delicious rice noodles and wonton in the street every day, one yuan in a big bowl. There is a dumpling shop in the market. They are big and round, and one yuan can buy five or six jiaozi. Camellia oleifera is also sold in Huang Yao.
Huangyao Douchi is very famous and can be used as seasoning. Every family in Huang Yao has inexhaustible sweet potatoes, and every family has dried sweet potatoes. Every day, children stew sweet potatoes in the street, at the roadside and at the village entrance, so in Huangyao, you must not eat less sweet potatoes. Huangyao market sells garden chicken, which is delicious. If you buy it at a farmer's house, it tastes better. Huang Yaoshi raises chickens and feeds rice, so it's especially delicious. In addition, it is worth mentioning that Huang Yao people are very hospitable, from sweet potatoes, porridge, rice noodles, rice cakes to dinner, from breakfast, Chinese food to dinner. If you are interested in trying farmhouse meals, you'd better bring them some small gifts (or buy some fruits). But it's hard to say after a year or two. With more tourists, folk customs will inevitably collapse.
