Camera of Meizu MX3

On the stage of 8 million people, the new HTC One equipped with only a 4-megapixel camera was thrown like a stone on the calm lake, causing uproar from all sides. The same is true for MX3. When the Android flagship was stuffed into the13 megapixel camera, Meizu made an unexpected but reasonable decision to keep 8 million pixels, adopt more mature technology and adopt a more powerful chip. For a long time, the misunderstanding that pixel value is higher than photo definition has been deeply rooted in people's hearts. For ordinary users, the pixel value only determines the maximum resolution of photos to a great extent, and ultimately only affects the print size of photos. The factors that affect the quality of camera film are the quality of photosensitive elements and lenses. Meizu confidently presented the MX3 with "only" 8 million pixels, and naturally did enough work.

In terms of shooting, this time Meizu has no strong parameters and still stays at the position of 8 million pixels. However, this time, the MX3 is equipped with a customized Sony third-generation IMX 179 BSI photosensitive chip, and the area of the photosensitive element is increased to 1.4μm, which is 56% larger than the common photosensitive particle area, and its photographing ability is stronger than that of the MX2. Including Sony's third-generation top-level back-illuminated 8 million photosensitive chip and 29-layer coated second-generation blue glass filter; F/2.0 ultra-large aperture, the incoming light is as high as 2 1%, and the actual luminous flux exceeds 40%. The official 2 1% is obviously reserved. Original negative delay anti-shake technology; Four-channel Fujitsu ISP chip is used for shooting image processing; 7 groups 1080P 30 frames/second real-time filters; AWB4.0 fourth generation white balance algorithm optimized for tens of thousands of times. Even in the corner of light and shadow, it can cope with it calmly. 30 pieces per second, the fastest mobile phone in continuous shooting is twice as fast as the fastest mobile phone in continuous shooting. This time Meizu upgraded the front camera to 2 million, Sony back-illuminated. This is Meizu's MX3 camera. Meizu's concept has only one original intention, so that you can take wonderful photos at your fingertips. Combining the fourth generation white balance algorithm and "zero-delay photography" technology, the real combination of software and hardware realizes the fastest 30-frame/second continuous shooting in smart phones. Meizu's camera R&D team composed of artists, photographers and engineers has made the shooting performance of MX3 reach the top level in smart phones through tens of thousands of optimizations.

Lar photosensitive pixels = bet photos.

On 20 13 Apple's new product launch conference, phil schiller, Apple's CMO, said something like "bigger pixels = better picture" when introducing the iPhone 5s camera, in order to tell everyone that bigger photosensitive pixels can bring more beautiful photos.

Sounds familiar! Bai Yongxiang, CEO of Meizu, said at the Meizu conference on September 5, "When everyone measures the camera standard by pixel value, I want to tell you that this is not the case." Looking at the pixel value alone, Meizu MX3 and MX2 are both 8 million, which may disappoint some users. However, MX3 uses a customized Sony third-generation IMX 179 BSI photosensitive chip, and the photosensitive element area is increased to 1.4μm super-large photosensitive pixel.

Compared with Samsung S4 with130,000 pixels, its photosensitive area is 56% larger than its 1. 12 micron */.12 micron ... The larger the photosensitive pixel, the more light the camera can get, and the more sensitive it is to light. Photos have less noise and better quality. With the same pixel, the larger photosensitive area means that it is more competent for shooting in complex light environment, especially in dark light conditions, which can ensure the clarity of photos.

Large aperture, more light and fast imaging.

The effect of taking pictures is far more than the number of pixels. MX3 is embedded with F/2.0 super aperture. The larger the aperture of the camera lens, the more light will enter. Compared with the previous generation MX, the light input of MX3 has increased by 40%. When the amount of light is large, the imaging speed will be fast, the fastest 1/24 seconds, and Ma Ma no longer has to worry about the camera shaking easily. Moreover, the noise is lower, which ensures that the flash does not need to be turned on in the case of low illumination, and better imaging effect is obtained. In addition, the large aperture of the mobile phone camera will also cause the depth of the scene. The popular but unprofessional explanation of the depth of field is "background blur". This is the photo effect that most people like. A larger aperture can blur a wider background and make the subject stand out.

Large capacity OTP, faster and more accurate focusing.

OTP is a register chip equipped in the mobile phone camera, which is used to record the related values of the sensor, such as the starting point, ending point and middle position of the camera motor. MX3 is equipped with OTP with a capacity of 8K, and larger capacity means faster speed, more recording and more accurate focusing.

Good lens, take good care of it.

High-quality lenses naturally need better care. MX3 adopts Corning Gorilla's third-generation lens protection glass, which is twice as hard as the second generation, and the scratch resistance is improved by up to 40%. As long as sharp objects are not used intentionally, hard objects such as keys cannot damage the lens protection glass in our daily life.

If the 8 million pixels value of MX3 is your "pain point" before this, then after the analysis of several major points, I believe it will be the starting point for you to fall in love with mobile photography. It is unrealistic for everyone to have excellent shooting skills, because we must be clear that people are using mobile phones, not mobile phones. Meizu's aim is: let ordinary people take photographer-level photos in daily life scenes with Meizu mobile phone, and realize what they shoot is what they see, no matter where they are!

Shooting experience report

In Meizu's official document, the phrase "the camera is not what it used to be" is used to describe the progress of MX3' s camera. In the era of13 megapixel, Meizu still chose an 8 megapixel camera. Meizu's explanation is that "it is not only the pixels that measure the quality of the camera, but also the perfect optimization of software, hardware and optical technology". This statement is reasonable and therefore persuasive, but the real persuasiveness comes from practical experience.

MX3 has enough space in choosing camera module, and the fuselage design does not take the ultra-thin route, and the thickness is 9. 1mm, which provides enough physical space for camera design, and will not have to make some compromises like those ultra-thin fuselage, or the camera protrudes or uses a smaller camera module.

The model of the module photoreceptor specifically mentioned in the official data is IMX 179 of Sony. There is not much public information about this sensor. Its size specification should be 1/3.2 inches, and the pixel [photosensitive unit] size should be1.4μ m. Meizu officials intentionally emphasize this parameter, which means that this sensor is more sensitive than13 million pixels. This photoreceptor is backlit, and the latest130,000 photoreceptor is stacked backlit. On the difference between back-illuminated and stacked photoreceptors. Will the pixel size be large? The camera pixel of HTC One is 4 million, which is much larger than the mainstream photoreceptor, but the imaging quality is not better than the mainstream 8 million and the fashionable13 million, which is a negative example. So the pixel size is not very convincing.

Before IMX/KOOC-0/79, the models were IMX/KOOC-0/75, Meizu MX2, iPhone 4S, and Samsung Galaxy S3 [some versions] adopted IMX/KOOC-0/75. However, there is a big gap between the final imaging levels of these three mobile phones, which proves that the theory of combining software and hardware optimization is established. How much has IMX 179 improved? We can't analyze the technical documents and the information is limited. It is better and more reliable than IMX 175.

The aperture of the lens is F 2.0, which is more than 40% larger than F2.4 of MX. The official 2 1% is miscalculated. A larger aperture means better environmental adaptability and more experience improvement. When shooting in dark light, macro shooting will also get a greater blur effect. The official did not provide the structural diagram of the lens group, but only mentioned that the lens 1 * * * consists of five lenses. From the EXIF information of the photo taken, we can know that the actual focal length of MX3 is 4.59 mm, and the measured equivalent focal length is 28 mm, so the area of the push-back photoreceptor will be "too large", so the focal length information of EXIF may be wrong, and this kind of thing has happened before.

The camera module also includes Fujitsu's four-channel ISP[ (Image Signal Processor) chip. The official has increased the transmission speed and realized the continuous shooting at 20FPS. However, according to our understanding, ISP is far more than that. It also has the effects of noise reduction, white balance and photometry. From the hardware configuration, the camera of MX3 is not backward, and we can give some high expectations.
