Selection of equipment

As a wedding photographer, first of all, we should not be careless in the choice of equipment. As a photographer after the wedding, the camera model is not high-end, and your professional level will be questioned. In this era of digital cameras flooding, let's get our clothes ready! Of course, a camera is not enough. Usually wedding photographers have to hang two cameras around their necks, so that after one of them breaks down, the other can still work. The other two cameras plus two different types of lenses (fixed focus+zoom or short focus+medium telephoto) can save you time to change lenses and ensure that you can capture those fleeting moments.

The camera can also be connected to the battery pack to speed up the call back.

Batteries and memory cards must be fully prepared! The battery should be as high capacity as possible, and the number of replacement should be reduced. Use good rechargeable batteries for flashlights as much as possible. It is recommended to use a high-speed card to ensure storage speed and continuous shooting speed! Under normal circumstances, we will always choose to use jpg straight out, mainly considering the storage speed.

Because the follow-up of the wedding lasts for a long time and the venue changes greatly, we must make full preparations. Communicate with the bride and groom in detail beforehand to understand the wedding process. In the follow-up process of the wedding, it is recommended to carry 17-55mm zoom lens, 50mm fixed focus lens or 85mm fixed focus lens.

In addition, the wedding room is usually a mixture of light sources with different color temperatures. In order to get accurate color tone, we can use flash to create atmosphere. Photographers should also know the wattage of indoor spotlights in advance so as to better adjust the exposure.

Reasonable selection of measurement methods

Due to time constraints, spot metering is rarely used in wedding photography. Average photometry is often used for wedding follow-up photography, and exposure compensation is adjusted by experience at the wedding scene.

Clever use of light

You can get a clear picture by shooting along the light, but sometimes the photos taken against the light are very brilliant. A good photo is inseparable from the expression of artistic conception and the contrast of environmental atmosphere. Silhouette is also a shooting technique of backlight. When the background is brighter than the main body, you may wish to make the main body black. This can highlight the outline, and silhouette is also a very common shooting technique.

In addition, the spotlight effect is shot by the light from the head. For example, the dim light in the long corridor of the hotel can be photographed by the spotlight overhead, creating a stage-like atmosphere.

Or reflect light with a mirror. The process of picking up the bride with a float is generally a basic wedding process. In the float, we can try to photograph the couple through the mirror in front of the car. This method can also be used when the bride is dressing up.

Buying moment

In order to capture touching or interesting wedding moments, photographers should have certain foresight. Besides being familiar with the wedding process, you should always be ready to capture the next meaningful moment. This also requires photographers to be sensitive enough. For example, the moment when the bride bows her head and smiles sweetly or wears a ring is a good moment of moving.

The details displayed in the freeze-frame moment are also important. In the case of chaotic background, blurring the subject with large aperture is also a good way to capture details.

Overcome the color difference between light source and field lighting when entering the site.

The entrance ceremony is the key content of the wedding, except that we need to know the lighting effect and process of the dinner in advance from the rehearsal and consider the shooting position clearly. This method is a dynamic process. With the change of illumination, there are both forward light and backward light.

In this case, we can use the camera's shutter priority mode, and the shutter speed should be set to not less than1160s. So you don't have to worry about the picture being taken, whether it's light or backlight. We won't be too busy changing parameters because of time constraints to miss the moving scene that is happening.

Still life before the wedding: such as cakes, champagne towers, table cards, table flowers, wedding stickers, etc. On the wedding table;
