Basic information of Ronnie Barrett.

Ronnie Ronnie Barrett was originally a commercial photographer in Tennessee, USA, and was never trained in firearms design. In January 1981, an accidental opportunity prompted Barrett to design a large-caliber semi-automatic sniper rifle. So, from design to manufacture, he took out a sample gun in less than a year. Then Barrett founded his own company, and began trial production in 1982, and the M-82A1 large-caliber semi-automatic sniper rifle was officially "born".

in p>199, Barrett manufactured a .5 caliber military sniper rifle that met the requirements of the military. In October of the same year, the Marine Corps selected the M-82A1 as a long-range killing weapon to deal with long-range individual soldiers, bunkers, vehicles, equipment, radar and low-altitude and low-speed aircraft and other high-value targets, and the explosive material disposal team also used the M-82A1 to mine. Barrett Company completed the order contract for 1 rifles within 9 days after receiving the order.

Note:

The designer of M82 is a team, and Lonnie Barrett is the founder and president of Barrett Company. M82 is only one series of Barrett's many guns. Ronnie Barrett only proposed to design a large-caliber semi-automatic rifle with 12.7×99mm NATO(.5 BMG) caliber ammunition, but he didn't design the gun, and he didn't have the knowledge of gun design. He used to be just a photographer, because the design of various parts of the gun machine could not be completed by one or two people.

Ronnie Barrett can be called the father of M-82.
