The first exhibition of Beautiful China: the doorway in the layout of furnishings
On July 22nd, Dahe Xieyou visited "Beauty, Good China-Exhibition of Archaeological Achievements in Recent Twenty Years" in the Capital Museum. This exhibition lasted more than three months from May 18th to August 27th, the International Museum Day. The river came late, but after watching it, it never forgets; The beauty of the exhibition is amazing.
The theme of the special exhibition is "Beauty, Good and China", and the layout of the display is ingenious and full of deductions. Sheep are beautiful. Everything that is pleasant is "beauty" from what the eyes see, what the body enjoys and what the heart moves. Women become good, yin and yang are harmonious, comprehensive and thoughtful, and satisfaction is "good". The layout of the special exhibition is interlocking, showing "beauty" and "good".
Exhibition layout
From 1995 to 216, well-known archaeological discoveries emerged one after another during the twenty years. It is difficult for the curator to sort out the context, select and collect among the unearthed cultural relics of the splendid stars. More than 36 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, involving 21 provinces, cities and 49 units, span from prehistoric times to Ming and Qing dynasties, which cannot be called "complete"; The selection of cultural relics, with "beauty" as the selection threshold, this is deeply understood by Dahe during the visit.
Chinese civilization comes down in one continuous line, and the special exhibition is arranged in a way of "total and division", which is unconventional. "total" is the law; "points" are laid out; Without an end, it symbolizes a long history and endless life.

The whole exhibition has a preface hall to give an overview of the beauty of China; There are also four exhibition halls: Prehistoric, Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Han and Tang Dynasties and Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, which show the inheritance, evolution and blending of Chinese culture according to the historical development path. The soul that runs through the whole exhibition is the "Tao" of Chinese culture, which can be seen from the themes of each exhibition hall: Tao and nature (prehistoric period), Tao of heaven and earth (Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties), Baohe Taihe (Han and Tang Dynasties) and Harmony and Harmony (Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties).

Exhibition hall design
The exhibition hall design of this special exhibition is refreshing.
It winds in from the long corridor with white tone, and the streamlined two walls mark the year, just like time tunnel. From the beginning of 1995, people moved forward, and the year slowly trickled down; As far as the eye can see, it is the important archaeological discoveries and site names that have drifted overhead for nearly 2 years. Looking up, the "sites" in various places are dazzling.

In 216, when I entered the preface hall, I felt suddenly enlightened. The four red characters of "Beautiful China" are scattered high and low, hanging in the hall, which is particularly eye-catching against the moire white background; Looking closely, every word has been deconstructed, left and right, suspended and combined, just like a work of art, both form and meaning can be tasted, which can be called the finishing touch.
Special exhibition theme (photo taken by the river)
The front of the preface hall is lined with 12 most beautiful cultural relics in an arc shape. From painted pottery pots to Ming pots, it not only runs through prehistoric times to Ming and Qing dynasties, but also covers various regions in the southeast, northwest and central China. The 12 cultural relics are not only tangible beauty, but also reflect the aesthetics of the times they represent; An overview of 12 pieces of cultural relics in series can feel the cultural blending and social changes in the long river of history. And the number 12 itself coincides with the twelve earthly branches, which has a great influence on farming culture.

The history is endless, and the four exhibition halls are presented in turn. The design of each exhibition hall is remarkable.
The prehistoric exhibition hall, represented by Yangshao culture, stands among huge totem poles decorated with painted pottery, and the surrounding walls are embedded with classic cultural relics such as Hongshan Culture and Liangzhu culture. The whole exhibition hall looks empty, simple and mysterious. This is the childhood of mankind, and all kinds of totem patterns and utensils created by ancestors inspired by nature left a string of mysterious cultural symbols for future generations, which made people think.

The bronze hanging column hanging in the air adds a dignified and mysterious and depressing color to the exhibition hall of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties. While feeling the ferocious beauty of ancient bronze wares, we can't help but wonder how human beings moved from barbarism to civilization in that predatory era.

The exhibition hall of Han and Tang Dynasties created the background of Chang 'an in sight and the ancient silk road, and a corner of Bukkoji, praised by Liang Sicheng as "the first national treasure of China", also reappeared impressively in the exhibition hall. This is the most prosperous period in China's long history, with strong national strength, frequent foreign affairs and far-reaching spread of Chinese culture. Up to now, many countries still call China in Han and Tang Dynasties.

Compared with the elaborate works of the Han and Tang Dynasties, the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties Exhibition Hall is relatively simple and lively, but the porcelain unearthed from the Lushi family tomb in Lantian reflects the exquisite life of the literati class in the Northern Song Dynasty against the background of the Jiangnan courtyard.

Exhibition of cultural relics
More than 36 pieces (sets) of unearthed cultural relics in this special exhibition are rich in content, but the exhibition is dense and clear in context.
due to the limitation of space, Dahe will tell the story behind the cultural relics in the following chapters —— "Shoubo's" Beautiful China "Exhibition: Heavy Instruments in Various Halls"
In view of the completeness, beauty and essence of bronzes in this exhibition, Dahe, who prefers bronzes, can't help but open a special chapter to remember —— "Shoubo's" Beautiful ". Speaking of Ceng Houyi, people can't help but think of bronze national treasures such as chimes, ice guides and plates. Who is this mysterious and famous Ceng Houyi? -
Speaking of the regret of this exhibition, I didn't have a good look at the biggest golden pagoda of Ashoka in the Northern Song Dynasty so far, because there was a commentary, and the inside and outside floors were surrounded by stories. Dahe thinks it is also excellent to know the story of the tower in advance and save time to see more cultural relics. What's more, in this special exhibition, there are two golden pagodas of Ashoka, big and small. -"The first exhibition of" Beautiful China ":The Story of King Ashoka's Golden Pagoda"
