How to use up landscape photography

Photography usually uses light in two ways: one is to wait for the right light. Michael Fatley, an American contemporary landscape photographer, is a waiting master. In order to take photos with excellent light, he often waits for hours or even days in one place. The other is to come up with a solution under the existing lighting conditions. We often hear photographers talk about the "good" or "bad" light, but it's actually just a question of whether the light can match the theme. The second option is more suitable for those who have no patience and don't have much time to take pictures.

Shooting method 1, light color:

2. Morning light and twilight:

If you want to take excellent natural photos, you must sacrifice some sleep time. Summer nights are relatively short, so there are usually only a few hours of sleep from sunset to dawn. If there is still a distance from your camp to the shooting destination, your sleep time will be reduced accordingly. In most cases, you need to arrive at the destination before dawn.

It is totally worthwhile to arrive at the destination before sunrise 1 hour to shoot, because it is from then on that the intense color game of light began. The weather was fine on the day of shooting, and the light formed blue and red-purple ribbons on the horizon. Sometimes, before sunrise, the color of clouds is very strong-even at sunset. Therefore, in order to capture the magic of morning and dusk, it is very worthwhile to wait for a while.

3. Sunrise and sunset:

If the sun rises from the horizon of Ran Ran at this time, your environment will change greatly in just a few seconds. When sunlight refracts to the ground through clouds, the scenery around you will also exude unique charm. Without clouds, this visual feast will soon end-this is very common in summer, because the sun is already dazzling at 6 am. On the contrary, such scenes can last for a long time in winter. Due to the influence of low sun and cold air, a few hours after sunrise and an hour or two before sunrise are the best shooting time, because there is ideal shooting light during this time.

The color of the sky changes with the amount of dust, water droplets and other substances in the atmosphere. You must have seen such a scene: in the early morning or evening, sometimes the sun and the sky look red, and sometimes the sun rises or sets quietly.

4, white balance:

White balance will affect the color effect of light in photos. In automatic mode, the camera will try to reproduce your scene in neutral color. Therefore, in order to reproduce the color atmosphere of the scene at that time and achieve the ideal color effect, it is wise to manually adjust the white balance.

5, noon light:

As mentioned earlier, sometimes the so-called "afternoon light" actually appears at 6 o'clock in the morning. At this time, the shadow of the backlight area is very heavy. When shooting such a scene, the blue of the sky will also be reflected in the photo. From a photographic point of view, sunny places will make people feel bored and hopeless, because such light can't take ideal natural photos-eating breakfast or taking a nap is a good choice. Of course, you can also use this time to focus on the details of the subject, or create some artificial shadows-in this way, the sunny background and artificial shadows form a charming contrast. For caves with limited light, noon is the most suitable shooting time-in the famous Antelope Canyon in the United States, people can only see the magical and unique light there at noon.

As the weather changes, the light at noon will change dramatically. If there is a sudden thunderstorm, you need to pay special attention. From a photographic point of view, the calm after the storm is a particularly interesting scene. In addition, my experience also shows that in such weather, the original boring and unchanging scene will soon change, showing a grand and strong atmosphere.

Cloudy skies provide shooting conditions for all subjects. Under the thick cloud cover-soft and uniform light, the best photos are taken: plants, the texture of scenery, exquisite details and dense forests are all suitable for shooting in such weather conditions.

6. At night:

Most of the light at night is dim, but if you get used to the darkness, you will find that there are colors in the darkness. On the night of the full moon, the moon shines so brightly on the scene that the photographer can almost get the "noon photo" again after a long exposure-with the help of the characteristics of the camera, the light can be continuously increased, thus producing heavy shadows and light colors on the sensor. 7. Sunshine: If the sun is behind the photographer, then this is what we call sunshine. In addition to the unpleasant characteristics, the photographer's shadow will also be brought into the photo according to the different incident angles of sunlight. This type of light is the least attractive of all light directions. Smooth lighting is not conducive to the stereoscopic effect in the photo, because usually this kind of light will not shape too many structures in the photo, and only two-dimensional images will be obtained. But sunlight can well reflect the inherent color effect of the scene-bright morning or dusk is usually very strong, which can immerse the whole scene in bright colors, so shooting with sunlight in such a scene is a good choice. 8. Side light: If the light shines on the scene from the side, this is what we call side light. Side lighting often excites photographers because it can form strong shadows and perfectly shape the landscape. 9. Backlight: The light from the back of the subject is the so-called backlight. Although this kind of light can easily underexpose the subject, the backlight is still the most exciting and dramatic light in the light. In the case of backlight, most of the scenes are in the shadows, and only the outline of the photographed scene is clear, and backlight can make the photos rich in layers.
