Yading Scenic Area (full name: Daocheng Yading Scenic Area) is located in Yading Village, Shangri-La Town, Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is mainly composed of three sacred mountains, namely "Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Shanuoduoji" and surrounding rivers, lakes and alpine meadows. Its scenery is almost extinct on the earth. Because of its unique landform and original ecological natural scenery, it is known as "the soul of Shangri-La, China" and praised by international friends.

Aden Scenic Area has not only magnificent and sacred snow-capped mountains, but also vast meadows, colorful forests and blue and transparent Haizi. Almost all the most beautiful things in the snowy plateau are gathered here, which makes people linger. Like local devout Tibetans, hiking around the mountains is the best way to feel the scenery of Aden. However, due to the high altitude of Aden reserve, it still takes considerable physical strength to walk all the way down.

Aden, which means "land facing the sun" in Tibetan. The three snow-capped mountains in the reserve, Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Shanuoduoji, are distributed in the north-south direction and arranged in a zigzag pattern. They are collectively called "Nianqing Gongga Risong Gongbu", which means: Three Holy Mountains for Protecting the Law. In Tibetan Buddhism, it is called "Three-legged Snow Mountain" and is a sacred place in the hearts of Tibetans.

1928, American botanist and explorer Joseph Charles Francis Rock arrived here. After returning home, he wrote an article and published his photos in National Geographic magazine, introducing Aden to the world.
