Introduction:

Shunji Iwai was born in 1963. The director of the film Love Letter, a Japanese chess player in the new film movement, is regarded as the most potential recent video writer in Japan. Some fans in China called him "Japanese Wong Kar-wai".

The Love Letter, which was shot by Iwai 1995, caused an unprecedented sensation in Japan with fresh and touching stories and bright and beautiful images, and soon affected Southeast Asia and even Europe and America. Before the film debuted, several TV short films of Iwai, such as Fireworks and Binding of Love, were highly praised. After winning Dream Traveler at Berlin Film Festival, Shunji Iwai filmed Swallowtail Butterfly with many stars in the background of a stateless city, and his latest work, Everything in Lily Week, attracted the attention of Japan because it involved juvenile crimes such as Japanese aid exchange. ...
