"The Great Country" is Yan Ming's second work after "I Love This Romance I Can't Cry". It is divided into two forms: a photo album and a picture book. In addition to collecting more than a hundred representative works of photography, the graphic book also uses tens of thousands of words to trace some of the stories behind the photos.

Yan Ming said that although his book is called "The Chronicles of a Great Country", it may be about the back of a great country. Regarding big countries, he focuses on historical and cultural things. The ruin and rapid decline behind economic development are far beyond people's expectations. He wants to leave behind those beautiful things, wise and romantic things. Therefore, the English title of "Country Of Ambition" is actually the country of ambition. Many shooting scenes in the work have disappeared. What you can see in these fragments is the looming appearance of a great country in the past.

However, he doesn’t like to put the theme first. He always believes that all photos are themselves and do not belong to another name. Or each photo should not have a name, and the book title is just a code name. In his view, all sad stories are stories of time, and the greatest cost is actually the cost of time.

Tim Yip, who is famous for his film art, actually started to engage in photography from a very early age. He said that when he was a child, his brother was good at taking photos and had many girlfriends, which made him very envious. This conversation between him and Yan Ming was the first time the two met, but he was no stranger to Yan Ming's works and had always admired them. Tim Yip said: "Why we like photography is because the way photographers communicate is very personal, and they use real feelings to shoot things, so they are very comfortable." And Yan Ming's works just meet this standard of Tim Yip: "Artists have to photograph themselves, and I When I saw him taking pictures of himself, I found that he was a clean person. I think this is very important. A clean person will bring out clean energy. When we look at it, it feels like we have died all over again.
