But to be honest, many AI photography functions are just a small step forward than the automatic mode in traditional cameras.

I think mobile photography has two interpretations of AI. One is the generalized AI. Many photography functions, including HDR, portrait mode, night view mode, slow door photography, etc., all contain AI components, and almost all smartphones on the market also have such functions. For example, when you take a selfie, AI photography will recognize it, and then match you with some algorithm effects to make your skin brighter and smoother, while blurring the background.

If you are shooting landscapes, AI photography will automatically add some parameters such as saturation, contrast and sharpening to your photos to make the final photos more beautiful.

Now it is of little significance to use the mobile phone to chase orders in reverse, because the mobile phone camera and the traditional camera have presented two obviously different development paths. SLR cameras are more about upgrading hardware technology. In the case that hardware is difficult to break through, software and algorithms are more dominant in mobile phone cameras.

Therefore, AI photography does reflect the progress of today's smart phone algorithms from the technical level, and the vision that mobile phone manufacturers want to "let ordinary people take good photos".

However, if you are a user who has a high pursuit of mobile phone images and want to do some photography creation through your mobile phone, this narrow AI photography function may not bring you a better experience. Because the original intention of AI photography is to replace the user's control of the front and back photos, all the effects are automatic and modular.

Although Apple's mobile phone also uses AI algorithm extensively, unlike Huawei's mobile phone, Apple's mobile phone is more used at the bottom, which means that Apple's AI algorithm will not deliberately "beautify" photos, but is used to restore colors, correctly expose and improve tolerance.

At least when I use Huawei mobile phone, I turn off this AI function. At present, AI photography technology is still not perfect, and there are often mistakes in the recognition of some scenes, and the details of photos are inevitably distorted.

I hope that AI photography will have more new technologies and functions in the future. Perhaps one day, AI photography can automatically compose and color in the process of taking pictures like human eyes, and it can also make the mobile phone have real optical blur, so that we can take perfect photos at will.
