In the third trimester of pregnancy, I completed my first acrylic painting in 20 days

It took 20 days and 32 weeks of pregnancy to complete the first acrylic painting creation in my life (the sketching photography material comes from the Internet, the author is unknown).

I encountered many difficulties during the painting process. Apart from the difficulty of not being able to sit for long periods of time in the third trimester of pregnancy and the fact that my 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter has to call her mother every ten minutes, which are basically surmountable, I have solved the biggest problem, which is I took maternity leave two months in advance so that I would have two months of free time to do something I like before giving birth.

After all, the pressure, physical strength and time of taking care of a newborn after giving birth are a huge challenge for every mother. Why not just take a two-month break from the intense work and child-rearing routine.

My husband fully supports my decision and he also feels that I need to rest. (Manual comparison)

But I didn’t really take a rest. I stuck a few tasks for myself. Now, I have completed the first task. I can't say that I am satisfied, but I have basically achieved my goal.

Now let’s talk about the problems of painting, especially when painting watermelons and linen. How to express the texture has troubled me for several days. Because there are no corresponding teaching materials on the Internet, I can only look at photos every day. Observe and analyze carefully.

In order to express the rustling texture of watermelon, I tried dyeing with cotton swabs. In the end, I found that no tool can be as natural and realistic as a stroke. All you need is to learn to use different ways of using the brush. Finally, I used No. 0 With the outline pen, apply thin layers layer by layer with hand shaking to complete the drawing. (Is there a funny picture?)

When I tried hyper-realistic painting myself, I realized how difficult it is. Although I have painted some hyper-realistic watercolor paintings before, the complete presentation of such a large-scale work is very important to me. It's a brand new challenge.

I have read some arguments that in contemporary society where photography technology has become popular, hyper-realistic paintings are meaningless and are nothing more than cloned photos. My point of view is exactly the opposite. Exploring the limits of human craftsmanship is as wonderful as exploring the vastness of the universe. People often admire the ingenuity of human architecture and the uncanny craftsmanship of nature, but they are biased against hyper-realistic paintings.

Self-taught painting will encounter many difficulties. Without anyone's guidance or study reference materials, you can only explore slowly by yourself, but the process of analyzing and overcoming difficulties will benefit you a lot.

I have met many self-taught painting enthusiasts who are very diligent and draw a lot of paintings every day, every week, and every month, but they make little progress. I admire these diligent and self-disciplined self-learners very much. I also tried to draw once a week or once a month, but in the end they stopped because of the laziness in my body.

I found a comforting result in my subsequent self-examination. I used more than 90% of my patience to treat my few paintings. I would sum up my experience with each painting, and I would be better the next time I painted. I will try to avoid wrong thinking and painting methods. Although this is very troublesome, the progress is obvious. On the other hand, some painters who clock in every day seem to always repeat the same mistakes.

Therefore, I would like to give a little advice to all self-taught painting enthusiasts. All painting skills are based on thinking. Think clearly before you start painting. If you make a mistake, you should summarize it.

The following are partial↓

Although there are still many places that have not achieved the expected results, I believe that through continuous exploration in the painting process, I will slowly accumulate my own set of observations and Drawing skills.

If you love painting, let’s work hard together!

Off topic, someone offered 1,500 for this painting. For the first time in my life, I felt the value of creation. Do you want to sell it?
