First, increase exposure compensation.

Snow-covered scenery, the reflectivity will become very high, will fool the camera's metering system. The metering system will mistakenly think that it is a very bright environment, so it will reduce the exposure, resulting in insufficient exposure of snow and gray.

Therefore, photographers should manually increase exposure compensation before shooting snow scenes. As for the increase, it depends on the snow area and shooting style of the scenery. The larger the area, the more it increases, and vice versa. Generally, adding 0.7- 1.5 is almost enough. You can shoot and tune until you are satisfied. The operation method is to press and hold the "exposure compensation (marked with"+-") button next to the shutter key of the fuselage, and then adjust the increase or decrease of the main dial.

The rule of "exposure compensation" is added to shooting snow scenes, mainly for SLR and micro-single cameras. If you are using a smart phone, you can turn on the "AI Photography" function on the photo page, and the phone will automatically recognize that the shooting content is snow, and then give the correct shooting parameters.

Second, set off the snow with a dark background.

Third, freeze the snow with shutter speed.

Snow is dynamic, so it is necessary to use "shutter priority" to determine the shooting state. If you want to freeze the snow, use a faster shutter speed, such as 1/500 seconds; If you want to lengthen the track of snow, or shoot the effect of wind blowing snow, you can set the shutter speed to be slower, such as 1/30 seconds, or even slower.

4. What is a static snow scene?

The so-called static snow scene is the scenery after snow. What scenery should I take after the snow? The first choice is parks, historical sites and artificial lakes on both sides of the city. These places are close to home, and you can shoot pavilions, city landmarks, bridges and so on after the snow. After the snow, the flowers and trees will definitely look brand-new.
