Yulong Snow Mountain, located in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, is the southernmost snow mountain in the northern hemisphere. Its main peak is a steep fan with an altitude of 5596 meters, and the snow on the mountain does not melt all year round. In the eyes of local Naxi people, Yulong Snow Mountain is a sacred mountain. Legend has it that it is the embodiment of the Naxi protector "Sanduo" and has been guarding people living here. Yulong Snow Mountain is also a famous national 5A-level tourist attraction. When traveling to Lijiang, people usually climb mountains for sightseeing.

Because of the high altitude of Yulong Snow Mountain, it is impossible for people with high altitude to climb the mountain. But there are many scenic spots at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, and there is no serious high altitude. Blue Moon Valley is one of the most beautiful scenic spots. Although many people regret not being able to reach the top, you can also see the majestic posture of Yulong Snow Mountain here.

Blue Moon Valley is located in the valley north of Ganhaizi at the eastern foot of Yulong Snow Mountain and south of Yunshan Ping, about 35 kilometers away from Old Town of Lijiang. It belongs to a scenic spot in Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, but you don't need to buy tickets for Yulong Snow Mountain to play here. You only need to pay a ticket of 100 yuan and a round-trip bus to 20 yuan from Blue Moon Valley, and there are no other expenses.

The predecessor of Blue Moon Valley is "Baishui River", which is a river formed by the melting of Yulong Snow Mountain glacier. The riverbed through which the river flows is mainly composed of limestone fragments, which are gray in color, while the river is very clear and looks like a white river, which is also the origin of the name Baishui River.

In this area of Blue Moon Valley, because the river was blocked by the mountains in the process of flowing, several lakes with large areas gradually formed. Looking around on a sunny day, the lake is exceptionally clear and blue, overlooking this valley, just like a crescent moon embedded at the foot of a snowy mountain, hence the name "Blue Moon Valley".

There are four large lakes in Blue Moon Valley, each with a nice name, namely: Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake and Tingtao Lake. The color of the lake is different, the angle is different, and the lighting is different.

At first, it was not a tourist attraction, but a place for tourists to rest on their way to Maoniuping or Yunshan Ping. During this period, many tourists were attracted by the beautiful scenery in front of them and stopped to enjoy it. In particular, the small waterfall landscape like Baishuitai is deeply loved by tourists and has gradually become a scene of Yulong Snow Mountain today, attracting many tourists who come specifically for Blue Moon Valley.

If I recommend you to visit sightseeing bus, a scenic spot, I strongly recommend it. Although there are four lakes in Blue Moon Valley, they are not big. It takes less than 1 hour to visit along the wooden plank road on the shore of the lake. If you enjoy the tour carefully, 2 hours is enough.

The beauty of Blue Moon Valley lies in the exceptionally clear blue water, which is very charming, as if purifying the soul and making people feel relaxed and happy. Of course, the beauty of the lake lies in the surrounding scenery. The lake is surrounded by dense pine forests, and all the beautiful scenery of nature seems to be gathered here.

Even if you can't go to the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the whole Jade Dragon Snow Mountain here, find a suitable angle and take a beautiful picture of the Snow Mountain reflected on the lake.

I don't know, have you ever been to the "Blue Moon Valley" at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain when you traveled to Lijiang? What's your impression of the scenery here? Welcome to leave a comment.
