Qiu Litao's Character Evaluation

Qiu Litao has always been prolific, not affected by the market, and has its unique representation among Hong Kong-made film directors. In addition to being an all-round genre film, he also has another route to express his will realistically with social conscience. There are also many excellent works in writing people and feelings within the framework of popular genre. It is particularly worth mentioning that because of his versatility, he honed a set of "economic aesthetics" from a large number of practical experience in small-scale production. At first glance, it is not strange, but it is extremely rich in the efficiency and "life spirit" of Hong Kong filmmakers.

Inheriting predecessors' works is the characteristic of Qiu Litao's works. He observes things from a keen angle, understands things accurately and has compassion for others. His other idea is to "go to the end", or to find another way to achieve the theme of his previous works. It can not only keep a low profile and satisfy bad taste, but also insist on and even stubbornly maintain the tradition and sharpness of Hong Kong movies.

He inherited the special temperament that was both popular and vulgar instilled by the mixed colonial history of Hong Kong and Kowloon, but he did not compromise with it at all. On the contrary, he is as sharp as ever.
