Cycling at night on a hot day in search of a summer resort, and met a group of people who pursue freedom and ease

The weather in Beijing is so hot that even the tires are afraid of burning on the ground. After get off work, when the sun sets and the temperature starts to drop, I pack up my equipment and head north to find a place to escape the summer heat in the mountains for a day.

The further north you go, the cooler it gets into the mountains, and the climb is not so strenuous. There are also street lights, but when you get deep into the mountains, the street lights are not on. I wanted to take a photo with the train under the Daqin Line. Together a lonely. After riding for nearly fifty kilometers, I finally found a quiet place with mountain spring water.

Turn from the main road into the small road and ride up the cement gravel road. There is a snake almost crushed on the mountain road. It looks like it must be poisonous. HOHO, let it go. I Most afraid of snakes.

In order to minimize interruptions and unnecessary trouble, we continued to find a flat camp deep in the mountains.

There is no light pollution here, so you can watch the stars at night. Hehe, I have time to think about how to take pictures of the stars tonight.

It was quite comfortable when I fell asleep, but I was woken up by the cold in the early morning. I came here to escape the heat, so I didn’t have to live like that. Alas, I still have to bring a sleeping bag, the small fleece blanket is too thin. The ambient temperature in the mountains is estimated to be below 20 degrees.

After waking up from the cold, I looked around and the only thing that could be used to increase warmth was an inflatable bag. Inflate it, seal it and stuff it into a blanket to cover it. It is somewhat effective, similar to the principle of a down jacket. I sneezed until dawn, hoping it would be okay.

There is heavy dew in the mountains at night, and the car seats and panniers are covered with water, so I don’t rush to put the tent away and dry it in the sun to prevent mold.

Although I experienced a tire puncture last time when I was carrying more than 40 kilograms on the stone steps, I guess it was the result of a snake bite, not the tire. This time I chose to trust Paris-Roubaix tires and hit the slopes.

Two cars had already come to the parking lot. One of them saw me coming down from the top and was surprised to confirm with me and even proposed to climb the mountain together. But first I have to pour some mountain spring water into milk powder for breakfast.

The roads in the scenic area are basically connected, and there are several mountain passes. In view of last night's encounter, I still picked up a long branch to use as a pathfinder, and I had to take precautions to alert the snake.

I don’t have much time in the morning, and it’s hot today, so I just wandered around the scenic area and it was quite rewarding. I made more new discoveries and got to know a lot of plants than the last time I visited. and insects.

There used to be a Juxian Lake Villa in the innermost part of this place. It has been abandoned for many years, leaving behind two small reservoirs one above the other and two dogs, one big and one small. You can fish in the reservoir, but the dogs are skinny and skinny. The head is very pitiful. When I passed by last night, the green eyes didn't scare me. When I looked at it during the day, I just felt pitiful. Unfortunately, I didn't bring any meat dishes this time, so I followed me all the way.

I was talking to my temporary mountain companions about raspberries, raspberries and other wild fruits that are common in summer in the south, when I discovered several raspberry bushes on the hillside on the way back to the parking lot. Come whatever you want, it's red and tempting, just eat it. You are very lucky to find it in the north, but it doesn't taste sweet enough and even has a bit of bitter taste.

To summarize, the fruits here include: mulberries, apricots, peaches, raspberries, persimmons, crabapples, and chestnuts. It’s like a mountain of flowers and fruits, and the fragrance of chestnut flowers is floating all over the mountain. I am the only monkey here tonight.

At noon, we took advantage of the opportunity to set up an outdoor kitchen on the stone wall next to the mountain spring. The cold mountain spring water was just enough to cool the noodles, and it could also chill Korean cold noodle soup dumplings. Self-driving mountain friends also gave them as gifts The peaches and the homemade beef enema make up for the false advertising of the large slices of beef on the cold noodle package.

A group of motorcycles came in the afternoon, and they turned out to be some of the people I had met last week. They became familiar with each other. They were all warm and hospitable. We drank tea and chatted together. They are all a group of people who pursue freedom and ease. As the saying goes, heroes have the same vision, so we can meet again here. Before leaving, we added each other on WeChat, looking forward to meeting each other next time.

Let’s dry out tonight’s bath water while there is still sunshine. There should be no need to take a cold shower tonight.

I continued to visit this mountain alone, deliberately walking on untraveled roads. I met a companion on the way and walked with me, and we discovered many interesting places. The rest area above the longevity spring can also be used as a campsite, which is relatively shaded and has many facilities. Looking at the high temperature tonight and having enough food for tonight, I decided to stay one more night and go down the mountain while it's cooler tomorrow morning.

This is the Eagle and Pigeon Cave. There is a Maitreya Buddha statue inside, as well as an unopened bottle of mineral water from 2020. You can help if necessary. The space inside can also be used as a temporary shelter from the rain or even to lie down. The small house next to it is the Maitreya Monastery, and there are many stone benches and stone mills. I don’t know if there were real monks living here in the past.

Because of this signal tower, the 4g signal here is very good.

There are several such plants growing on the rocks beside the archway of Maitreya Yuan. Even new seedlings can grow on the dead wood, which is a sigh of relief for the tenacity of life.

Back at Changshou Spring, all the other tourists had left. I saw a stray dog ??rummaging through the trash can looking for food. It was one of the two dogs in the morning.

This one ran away as soon as it heard me talking. It ran in a Z-shaped walking line. It looked like one of its eyes was broken. I remembered that my self-driving mountain friend left a beef enema for me before leaving. I cut it. I threw half of it over and waited quietly for it to come back and eat it.

And my own dinner: bacon, chestnut and mung bean rice dumplings, iced preserved egg tofu, half enema, and some vegetables.

I checked the weather forecast again and again. It seems that there will be a short period of light rain tonight. After the sun goes down, there are lightning and thunder in the distance. I see a lot of dark clouds slowly gathering in the sky. I am a little worried about the way I will set up camp tonight. . I thought that the cement floor under the Buddha statue would be warmer and avoid the cold last night, so I simply used stones to build it.

Taking advantage of the sultry weather, do a few sets of push-ups and stretches first, and take a bath with the hot water in the afternoon. It is indeed much more comfortable. But as soon as I entered the tent, I realized something was wrong. It wasn't warm at all, it was like a sauna. I was hot and sweating after a while. The cement board was exposed to too much heat during the day.

Just when I was about to change the place to camp, I heard the nearby trees roar violently. The bad wind was blowing. I didn’t care about the heat. I quickly stretched my limbs into a rice shape to support the four corners of the tent. Sure enough, this A few stones couldn't hold the tent down at all, and the outer tent was blown loudly. Fortunately, it was blocked in time, and the tent was still intact. There was no rain, only a small amount of hail. After resisting for almost an hour, the outside finally recovered. Calm, my hands are sore. My back was also covered in sweat, so I quickly opened the tent and it seemed good to lie down and watch the stars.

The concrete floor is still radiating heat, and without the outer tent it is not so stuffy. But in the early morning, you can feel the cold air pressing down from above, and the feeling of being cold at the top and hot at the bottom is really painful. Yan, I was really careless this time.

This night was thrilling, and I also listened to the ventriloquist performances all night long. The crows, the cries of toads, the sounds of insects, and the sounds of animals drilling through the forest came and went one after another, making me confused. I felt like I was sleeping, but fortunately I felt energetic again at six o'clock.

After packing up and grabbing two buckets of water, I was attacked by gadflies before setting off. When I was doing aerobic cardio and lung training, they were all stuck on me. A sting was really painful. Every time they seemed to be besieging a group of four, they couldn't be driven away. After knocking four of them out, four more came around. They had no hesitation and clung to me desperately. I couldn't afford to offend them, so I quickly got on the car. Run away, you can still catch up. Fortunately, the road behind is downhill, otherwise you don't know if you can get rid of them.

I didn’t bother to take pictures of them at all, so I found a picture to educate everyone. Be careful of getting stung when you encounter one.

This time I cycled and camped for nearly 100 kilometers, and I was not tired at all. It was still cool to ride in the morning and evening. I spent a day in the mountains, drank tea, climbed a hill, walked around and learned about plants, and had a good time. When I meet a group of people who pursue freedom and ease, whether they are driving by themselves or traveling on motorcycles, being able to come here to get together must be the fate that they pursue and yearn for. Thank you for your care and gifts.
