Full name: Prince of Denmark, Hamlet's tragedy

Also known as the revenge of the prince and hamlet.

Main characters:

Hamlet (also known as Hamlet) Prince Hamlet-Prince of Denmark. Being haunted by my father's ghost, I want to avenge my father. After a painful struggle, he achieved his goal, and the whole palace fell into the terror of death. He was finally poisoned by a deadly sword.

Claudius Claudius-the current king of Denmark. He is Hamlet's uncle and succeeded to the throne after his brother died. The ghost of the old king told Hamlet that he was the murderer of himself. He deserved it, and finally died of revenge from his nephew.

The ghost king Hamlet (ghost)-Hamlet's father became a ghost after his death. Hamlet was abroad when he was poisoned by his brother.

Gertrude-Queen of Denmark, the birth mother of the prince. After old Hamlet died, she married Claudius. In Shakespeare's time, this relationship was regarded as incest, which caused Hamlet's hatred. She drank the poisoned wine that Claudius preset for Hamlet by mistake and died on the spot.

Polonius, Polonius, the imperial minister of Claudius. He is a notoriously stubborn old man, which hinders the love between Hamlet and Ophelia. Hamlet always plays dumb to tease him. Hiding behind the tapestry, he overheard the conversation between Hamlet and the Queen and was stabbed to death by the prince.

Laertes, the son of Polonius. Listen to Claudius' trick and compare the sword with Hamlet. Laertes' sword is a poisonous sword. In the fierce competition, they took each other's swords. Later, Hamlet left blood on Laertes, and Laertes fell to the ground.

Ophelia (Ophelia) Ophelia-Polonius' daughter. She and Hamlet both fell in love, but all kinds of resistance warned the prince that their political status made them hopeless. As part of Hamlet's crazy revenge plan, she was mercilessly abandoned by him. Her father's death made her insane, and finally she fell into the water and drowned.

Horatio, a close friend of Hamlet University. He did not directly participate in the conspiracy between the royal families, so he became the spokesman of Hamlet, and Shakespeare used him to set off the plot. He was also the only protagonist who lived to the end of the play. Although he had threatened to commit suicide.

Roxanne Crane and Garden Deng Rosencrantz &; Guildernstein-all old classmates of Hamlet University. They were summoned by Claudius to take care of Hamlet. Although they played few roles in the play, the prince soon suspected that they were spies. When the king secretly ordered Hamlet to be executed in England, he changed his name. So the two died inexplicably behind the scenes.

Fortinbras Fortinbras-Prince of Norway. There is only one shortcut to this play. But his importance lies in that he said the last line of the whole play, which seems to symbolize a brighter future and expounds the theme of the play.

Othello (one of Shakespeare's four tragedies)

Othello was a brave general in Venice. He fell in love with the senator's daughter Desdemona. But because he is black, this marriage is not allowed. The two had to get married in private. Othello has a sinister flag bearer Iago who wants to get rid of Othello. First, he tipped off the senator just to get married. He also provoked the feelings between Othello and Desdemona, saying that another assistant, Cassio, had an unusual relationship with Desdemona and forged the so-called love oath. Othello believed it and strangled his wife in a rage. Knowing the truth, he drew his sword, committed suicide with remorse and fell beside Desdemona.
