Direction of light

It is said that photography is the art of using light, and the basic knowledge of light is essential.

Light in seven directions

1, Guang Shun: The light irradiation direction is consistent with the camera shooting direction, and the picture has no special light-dark relationship, and the brightness of the picture is ok, lacking stereoscopic impression.

2. Side light: the direction of light irradiation is 90 degrees from the camera, and the subject has obvious light receiving surface and backlight surface, and the subject presents a yin and yang face.

Side lights are divided into front side lights.

3. Backlight: The direction of light irradiation is opposite to the shooting angle of the camera, the edge of the subject will have obvious outline, and the picture will have obvious contrast between light and dark, which can well reflect the shape of the subject. Backlight shooting is a test of the photographer's skill and requires a lot of auxiliary light intermediaries to shoot silhouettes.

Backlight is also divided into side backlight.

4. Top light: The sunlight at noon one day is the top light. Photographers usually make people look up and try to let their faces receive more light.

5. Bottom light: hit below the main body. This kind of light mostly appears in performance environments such as stage and annual meeting.

In daily shooting, we often use five kinds of light, such as smooth light, side light, positive side light, reverse side light and reverse light, and make rational use of the direction of light to take photos with a sense of layering and three-dimensionality.
