The architectural volume of the Bangmo Library of BenQ University starts from a soft curve shape, which expresses the welcome to the students of BenQ University and is in harmony with the surrounding living environment and other facilities on campus. Subsequently, the square structure was added as a library functional area. The curved surface is made of U-shaped glass, which is more vivid, while the square structure is made of thick ant wood to express the difference from books, documents and bookshelves. U-shaped glass does not directly reflect light, but transmits light to create a warm and pleasant atmosphere; Wood is as old as a book, recording the passage of time.
The interactive garden is a hall connecting the first floor and the fourth floor.
It is designed as an open space, which is different from the quietness and limitations of traditional libraries. The natural light and indoor gardens infiltrated by skylights make it look vibrant. The ground floor is divided into two main areas-reading area and discussion area. The height difference of 60cm creates a psychological barrier between the two areas, and the hall plays a role in integrating and distinguishing the two areas. People can easily see all parts of the library from the striking indoor stairs or by taking the glass elevator. Stairs and elevators bring a lot of vitality to the library. The purpose of library design is to adapt to students' study and life. The second floor is the student study area and administrative facilities, where there is the 14 study room and the Bangmo Memorial Exhibition Room.
The third floor of the Bangmo Library of BenQ University is connected to the student center through a platform, which becomes an additional main entrance. All kinds of books, academic papers and periodicals are stored on the third floor. There are also several classrooms, a small auditorium, multimedia facilities and UCC studio.
The fourth floor is similar to the third floor, but there is more open self-study space, including round table, window seat, table facing the hall and seat stairs.
The space on each floor of Bangmok Library of BenQ University is intentionally staggered, so people can see the floors below from the edge of each floor. The change of floor and ceiling height creates the variability of space, which makes the internal space of this unconventional but convenient and practical library comfortable and unforgettable.
