Photographic rainbow
Rainbow is formed by sunlight hitting water droplets in mid-air, and the light is refracted and reflected. Due to the light in the sky, an arched color spectrum is formed, which is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple from the outer ring to the inner ring.
In fact, rainbows have countless colors. For example, there are many subtle differences between red and orange, but for simplicity, only seven colors are used as the differences.
Extended data
A special rainbow —— the appearance of circular rainbow and its causes.
Colin leonhardt, a photographer from Perth, Western Australia, captured a strange whole rainbow while traveling in Cotzlo Beach.
Colin said: "When the helicopter passed a shower area, we were on our way back from the aerial photography. When we crossed the edge of the rain area, the sun was setting and the position was very low. The sunshine just created this strange rainbow. It was formed in front of us. " So Colin took out his camera and captured the formation of the whole rainbow.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the full circular rainbow phenomenon has a great relationship with the observer's position, which is mainly formed by the internal reflection of raindrops on sunlight.
