Today in History: December 4th-Million Dollar Quartet

This day in history: December 4, 1956

On December 4, 1956, one of the most famous and awesome jam conferences in history took place in the solar record in Memphis, Tennessee. Four legendary performers happened to bump into each other, just as musicians often do, and sat down to play some music. They met completely by chance, the improvisation was completely impromptu, and the resulting music, not surprisingly, was completely awesome.

These four musicians are the founders of rock music and rock music. Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis are all young, full of * * *, and they are all top-notch in their games. Although there are some different opinions, things have gone on like this.

after the success of "Blue Suede Shoes", Carl Perkins made great strides in Sun Record Studios with his brothers Clayton and Jay, and played drums on the guitar with W.S. "Fluke" Holland. Recently, Sun Records introduced a new member to increase his talent in piano, considering that the new member is Jerry? Lee? Jerry Lee Lewis, these talents are considerable.

In the early afternoon, Elvis, a sun artist who topped the charts five times? Elvis Presley was the most popular hockey artist at that time. One lip or one hip stopped to say hello to his old friend. He went into the control room to chat with Sam Phllips, the boss of Sun Records, and then went into the recording studio to have sex with the boys. Sam wisely left a tape to capture events for future generations.

Just when you think things can't be cooled down, johnny cash appears ... or is already there (it's not surprising that those present have different opinions, because we humans are so bad at remembering almost everything, and we are so sensitive to what we create, sometimes with very detailed memories). As for cash, he said in his autobiography,

I was there-I was the first to arrive and the last to leave, which was contrary to what had been written-but I just watched Carl's records there. He stayed there until the middle of the afternoon when Elvis came in with his girlfriend. At that point, the meeting stopped and we all started to laugh and cut together. Then Elvis Presley sat in front of the piano, and we began to sing gospel songs that we all know, and then sang some songs by Bill Monroe. Elvis wants to listen to the songs written by Bill except Blue Moon in Kentucky. I know all the tracks. So, contrary to what some people write, my voice is on the tape. It's not obvious, because I'm the farthest from the microphone, and in order to keep in touch with Elvis Presley, I sing much higher than usual, but I assure you, I was there.

As the cash implies, four people experienced about 4 pieces of gospel and country numbers, which inspired them. The songs they played included Peace in the Valley, A Little Talk with Jesus, and Crazy Arms. Besides, they also played rock songs by Chuck Berry, little richard and even Elvis Presley himself.

Sam Phillips not only wanted to record historical clips in his studio, but also asked a local photographer to take a visual image of this important moment. Now the iconic photo of Elvis sitting next to the piano, next to Jerry Lee, Carl and Johnny, accompanied by an article "Machete" by Memphis Press, reported this important opportunity meeting called "Million Dollar Quartet".

When Shelby singleton bought Sun Records from Sam Phillips in 1969, he discovered tapes from the legendary quartet. In 1981, he held a session and released some tracks as 17 albums. In 1987, due to the discovery of additional recordings, a complete session worth $1 million was released. In 26, another version was released, which included an extra 12 minutes that was not heard in the 1987 version. With this extra point, Elvis recorded a copy of the meeting. Although the sound quality has left some needed meetings and most songs are incomplete versions, considering who the members of the "million-dollar quartet" are (and they may be more accurately called "billion-dollar quartet" today), no one will mind.
