Ancient dwellings

A large number of famous businessmen and wealthy businessmen have emerged in Quanzhou history, and many big houses have been built in alleys. On both sides of West Street where Kaiyuan Temple is located, there are many such buildings, among which a beautiful ancient residence is hidden in a new building named Zhou Zi.

West Street 1 16 Song House is one of the 16 buildings selected by Quanzhou as the first batch of excellent modern urban buildings in Fujian Province. Built in 19 12, it was completed three years later.

Zhouzi New Building is located in West Street, which is the original entrance of the whole building complex. Now it's closed, but you can appreciate the exquisite architectural details of Quanzhou. Its shape, pattern, skills and materials all contain the cultural temperament of a certain era. Even the texture of red brick walls is very particular.

The back building needs to enter from No.8 Chencuo Lane, that is, the building and garden part now called 19 15 art space, which embodies the style of western characteristics in the later period of residential buildings.

The first half of the house is a double-protected official mansion, and the second half is a foreign building and an elegant tree-lined garden. The symmetrical layout of the central axis is exquisite and gorgeous.

Near Guandi Temple, there is also an ancient teahouse, which is another ancient residential style in Quanzhou. The predecessor of the ancient house was a three-step villa built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is said that the master at that time had four ranks. Dovetail ridge, black tile, red brick and carved window lattice are all typical traditional architectural styles in southern Fujian.

There are two red lanterns hanging at the door, only to see that there are commercial operations here. Walking in, it is an open-air courtyard, and the back three rooms have been transformed into relatively independent tea drinking spaces. Exquisitely carved corner doors, century-old calligraphy and painting walls, and hanging words inscribed by literati make people feel nostalgic through time and space.

Ancient temple

Quanzhou is known as "South Quanzhou" and "Penglai in South Fujian", and these religions have built a large number of places for religious activities in Quanzhou. In the center of the state, there are Buddhist and Taoist places, such as Kaiyuan Temple and Confucius Temple, and mosques, such as Jing Qing Temple.

Kaiyuan Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian. It's really unreasonable not to walk around Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou.

The most prominent and representative is the East-West Stone Pagoda. The East Tower is also called Zhenguo Tower, and the West Tower is also called Renshou Tower. The Twin Towers are the tallest stone towers in China. They survived an earthquake of magnitude 8 and many typhoons, and still stand today. The two towers are 200 meters apart, and the east tower is 4 meters higher than the west tower. On the north side of the East Tower, there is a hill where you can enjoy the details of the stone tower at close range.

Octagonal five-story pavilion-style wooden tower with carved beams and painted buildings is very beautiful. The eaves of the tower extend outward in an arc shape, and the eaves are high, which makes the tower feel flying in the air and appear light. Each floor has four doors and four niches, which are interchanged at different levels. This not only makes the gravity distribution uniform, but also makes the shape of the tower more vivid and beautiful. Each tower cornice is tied with a bronze duplex. Especially in the morning and evening rush hours, the army of electric motorcycles in southern cities has formed a particularly spectacular scene on Zhongshan Road.
