Application of mutual inductance phenomenon

Mutual inductance is widely used in electrical and electronic technology. Through mutual inductance, energy or signals can be easily transmitted from one coil to another. Transformer and induction coil can be made by using the principle of mutual inductance.

However, the phenomenon of mutual inductance will also bring adverse effects in some cases. For example, wired phones may often cause crosstalk due to mutual inductance between phones.

In electronic circuits, due to improper arrangement of coils or mutual inductance between wires and components, even the circuit can not work normally. In this case, we should minimize mutual inductance coupling. You can try to increase the distance between coils, or use two coils to place vertically. In some special cases, coils or other components can be shielded with ferromagnetic materials to eliminate the harmful effects of mutual inductance.
