Appreciation of Photographic Works of Man and Dog

Personally, I think that the reluctance of retired search and rescue dogs to leave is not a manifestation of harmony between man and nature, but a manifestation of animals' emotional attachment to fixed groups after domestication and their inability to leave their long-term lifestyle. The harmony between man and nature should mean that man and other creatures in the natural world can coexist harmoniously, and neither side's activities will affect the other side's life. Both sides can live completely naturally, equally and peacefully, instead of relying on the other side for survival like domestication.

There is a scene in The Little Prince that I still can't forget: After the little prince left his planet to explore the earth, he met a wild fox on the earth. He wants to make the fox his pet and domesticate it. The fox said to him:

To me, you are just a little boy, just like thousands of other little boys. I don't need you, and you don't need me. To you, I am just a fox, just like thousands of other foxes. However, if you tame me, we will need each other. For me, you will be the only one in the universe. I am the only one for you in this world. This passage in The Little Prince can perfectly reflect the emotional changes of both sides in the process of domestication, and the dog itself has strong feelings, so it is difficult for the retired search and rescue dog to give up domestication emotionally and it is difficult to understand.

Moreover, all animals will adapt to the environment. Search and rescue dogs have been training how to search and rescue or perform search and rescue tasks since childhood, and have already adapted to this living environment; However, when a search and rescue dog suddenly leaves this environment and starts a new life, no matter what creatures are dependent on the original environment, they show rejection behavior to the new environment. For example, animals kept in zoos for a long time are generally difficult to survive in the wild, and fish in seawater cannot survive in clear water, which is the result of environmental adaptation and has nothing to do with harmonious survival.

Therefore, the reluctance of search and rescue dogs to leave after retirement is not a manifestation of harmony between man and nature. The real harmony between man and nature should be reflected in the harmonious coexistence of man and other creatures and non-interference with each other.
