What is the difference between Sony (handheld) digital camera, AVCHD and Xavc SD in shooting mode selection? Which is better?

This refers to different video formats:

1: AVCHD is a high-definition disc compression technology jointly released by Sony and Panasonic in May 2006. AVCHD standard is based on MPEG-4AVC/H.264 video coding, and supports 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and other formats.

2.XAVC format is a video coding format officially launched by Sony on 20 13. This format has many advantages, including that it can handle all resolutions from HD, 2K, QFHD to 4K, and it can achieve high frame rate shooting. Considering the picture quality and resource occupation, Sony XAVC 4K has been considered by the industry as the best format for the production, circulation and exchange of 4K programs. XAVC 4K can record QFHD(3840x2 160) and DCI (4096x2 160) videos at a reasonable bit rate. The code rate is moderate, which meets the dual requirements of speed and quality of radio and television programs.

From the bit rate point of view, XAVC S has a higher bit rate and the corresponding picture quality should be better. But video will take up more memory card space.
