Operation mode of Olympic logistics
The organization and operation of Olympic logistics is very important for the success of the Olympic Games. Specific functions include:

2. Designated suppliers of Olympic freight forwarders

As shown in Figure 2, the company organized 25,000 kinds of goods to fly to 40 destinations within 10 days, organized 200 containers to leave Sydney by sea, and then successively shipped 1000 containers.

3. Designated suppliers of Olympic letters and parcels.
UPS, the world's largest courier service company, became a sponsor of the Olympic Games in 1994, and became the designated courier service provider of Olympic letters and parcels in 1996, 1998 and 2000, providing global courier service for the Olympic Games. In order to ensure the quality of service, UPS made a plan with BOCOG one year in advance, and set up service windows in each stadium, news center, Olympic Village and related hotels to lay a logistics foundation for the success of service. At the Sydney Olympic Games, UPS also organized 140 service personnel to provide film transportation services for 1 1000 licensed photographers and photojournalists on motorcycles, and quickly sent about 200,000 rolls of film from 34 venues to Kodak Image Center in the news center for printing. 4. Olympic exhibition logistics services
In addition to the logistics service providers designated by the Olympic Games, some delegations or news organizations also accept the event logistics services specially provided by logistics companies, that is, the whole logistics services provided to the organizations participating in exhibitions or conferences. As shown in Figure 3, Geo-Logistics provided complete logistics services for the BBC to report the Sydney Olympic Games, including making logistics plans in advance, collecting and packaging BBC equipment in different locations in London, acting as an agent to transport1× 40ft container TV relay equipment and1× 20ft container TV relay room materials, as well as 3,000kg TV relay equipment and 4,600kg broadcasting equipment. After the goods arrive in Sydney, they will be installed on site according to the requirements of BBC. After the broadcast mission is completed, the goods will be transported back to the original site of BBC in London.

During the Olympic Games, a large number of commodities are needed every day. In order to ensure the supply without occupying a large amount of inventory, suppliers often carefully organize the supply logistics services for the Olympic Games. As shown in Figure 4, CUB, a beverage supplier for Sydney Olympic Games, installed 405 POS machines in 35 venues. In order to ensure that each POS machine can store enough drinks during the Olympic Games, CUB is equipped with 22 on-site logistics administrators. By using VMI method, CUB can check the inventory, forecast and order through PDA, which achieves the effect of expanding sales, reducing costs and eliminating shortages.
