This is secondary literature. ;

(4) Use secondary literature to select relevant primary literature and then analyze and synthesize it to compile the third-level document form - special reports, reviews, progress, manuals, and encyclopedias , yearbooks and other reference books, these are three documents.

Origin

The word "literature" was first seen in "The Analects of Confucius·Bayi". Zhu Xi of the Southern Song Dynasty's "Collected Commentary on Four Books and Chapters" believed that "literature, classics" Ye; Xian, Xian Ye."

So at this time, the literature refers to classics and articles, and the presentation refers to the knowledge and opinions of ancient sages, as well as the various etiquette they were familiar with and their own experiences. "Yu Xia Shu·Yi Ji" also has relevant citations indicating that the original meaning of the word "documentary" refers to classics and sages.

In the "Tongkao of Documents" written by Ma Duanlin of the Song Dynasty, Wen and Xian were used as the basis for narrative and discussion: "Wen" refers to the classics, historical conferences and biographies of hundreds of schools of thought; "Xian" refers to ministers Memorials, commentaries by Confucian scholars, talks by celebrities, and records by barnyard officials.

Under his influence, the understanding of documents is limited to general written records. Things that cannot be expressed as written records cannot be called documents.

The documents mentioned today mainly refer to relatively important written materials with historical significance. The broad definition of documents becomes all carriers of recorded knowledge.
