Time-lapse photography how to shoot time-lapse photography skills

Time-lapse photography is one of the techniques in photography, so do you know how to take time-lapse photography? Let me take you to learn how to shoot time-lapse photography with time-lapse photography.

Regardless of art or technology, time-lapse photography is first and foremost a job that tests one's patience and perseverance. There is no flattering method. Only with super patience and persistent motivation can we finally present an ideal result. So every time we see a time-lapse work, it is usually accompanied by all kinds of amazing shooting data. If there is really a job that needs to endure loneliness, then time-lapse photography can definitely be counted as one.

Many people like to take time-lapse photos with cameras. In fact, at present, the resolution of a single photo of most cameras can reach the video standard above 4K. Therefore, the quality of camera time-lapse photography is still guaranteed. And many cameras also have built-in time-lapse photography function. Without such a built-in function, many cameras or sports DV can have time-lapse photography function in addition to cameras when using timed wired release. For example, GoPro is a weapon for many people to shoot time delays.

At present, there are two mainstream time-lapse photography, one is fixed time-lapse photography, and the other is mobile time-lapse photography which is hot in recent years. The two ways of playing have their own advantages, one is steady and the other is dynamic. In terms of difficulty, the latter needs more patience than the former.

The principle of these two methods is the same. The video 1 sec, which we often see at ordinary times, contains 25 continuous still images, where 1 sec is the playing time on the screen. In reality, we may have spent a total of 25 hours shooting these 25 photos, taking one every 1 hour, and then playing them together continuously is what we see on the screen 1 second. In fact, this is a relationship between the actual shooting time and the screen playing time. A blooming flower may take 10 days, and it is impossible for us to leave the actual time of 10 days on the screen to watch its changes.

Law of character motion animation

If you understand the principle, it will be much easier to shoot. You can set the interval according to the change of the object and the desired effect. For example, if the naked eye can see the clouds flowing obviously, the interval can be shortened, and if the naked eye can't see the movement, the interval can be adjusted a little longer.

Fixed time delay photography

Fixed delay is relatively simple. If the model used has built-in time-lapse photography function, you only need to set the angle of the machine, adjust the exposure parameters, set the interval shooting time and wait patiently.

Fixed time-lapse photography suggests that you shoot some changed objects, such as clouds in the sky, open flowers, seasonal changes and so on. If you just put a fixed object, such as glass, there is not much difference between shooting for a year and shooting for a day.

Moving time-lapse photography

Mobile phone time-lapse photography is relatively complicated. In addition to strictly controlling the exposure, all kinds of fine marks and reference marks should not be sloppy when shooting. One mistake may nullify all previous efforts. Therefore, shooting mobile phone time-lapse photography needs to be highly awake, and the success of the early shooting material is the key to the later finished product.

You can have a rough estimate before shooting. How long does it take to make a movie? What is the speed of movement? You can know what you are doing. For example, we need to move from point A to point B, and the total distance is 100 meters. If we take a photo every 1 m, we can get 100 photos. The actual playing time of the video is 4 seconds, so if we take a photo every 2 meters, the actual playing time of the video will become 2 seconds, and the sense of' speed' of the movement will be different.

For long-distance moving time-lapse photography, we need to plan the moving route of the machine and lens in advance, and then shoot at the same distance from frame to frame according to this route, and then play the photos continuously, which becomes a continuous moving video.

Close-range moving time-lapse shooting, there are many tools on the market that can assist shooting. We only need to set the corresponding action interval time for the accessories, and the machine setting is the same as the fixed delay.

Have little experience

In the actual moving time-delay shooting, if there is no strict scale, we can also use the physical object as the machine motion reference. For example, the tiles on the ground, after setting the moving route, we can choose the distance that the machine needs to move according to the rules of tiles. There are many such references in actual shooting, which can depend on the situation.

Post anti-shake treatment

Many time-lapse photos taken by friends are uneven or slightly shaky. This situation can be remedied later. There is an independent command "stable motion" in AE. Only by adding to the video to be processed and waiting for the processing to be completed can we see the birth of the miracle.
