Indoor Interview Lighting Skills _ Interview Lighting

There are three main environmental characteristics of indoor on-site interview: first, in most cases, the interviewer determines the interview location and cannot make on-site preparations in advance; Second, the site environment is complex, including light intensity, direction and color temperature; Third, it is inconvenient to connect the power supply when multiple lamps are distributed.

According to the above characteristics, it is suggested to use the LED interview light -Kit- 15 of Camlight group. This set of lamps consists of four PL- 1250 lamps. The illuminance of a single lamp is about 1000LX, and the illumination radius is about 0.5m When four lamps are used, the illuminance can reach more than 1500LX, which is far greater than the field environment. There are also two lamp stands and a hand-held pole in the suit; In addition, it is equipped with a dedicated DV battery and charger with Sony interface. The main feature of this set of lights is portability. All the sets are carried by a backpack, so the photographer has less work intensity and is easy to move when he goes out to interview. If it is a long interview, you can also use AC DC converter to supply power.

Indoor lighting functions are divided into two situations: day and night. There is sunshine during the day, and the color temperature is mainly 5600K K K. At night, because most rooms are illuminated by fluorescent lamps, the color temperature is higher, and in some cases it is 3200 K. PL- 1250 has its own color temperature conversion table, which can adapt to these two color temperatures. The field ambient illumination is generally low, about 300-500LX. The illumination of four pieces of PL- 1250 cloth will be much higher than the original illumination. It can also be considered that on-site lighting has little influence on light distribution, and the white balance can be adjusted by PL- 1250 color temperature. This paper mainly introduces the basic methods and characteristics of using PL- 1250 lighting, but basically follows the three-point lighting method, and the specific application will be adjusted according to the scene situation, the original lighting on the scene, the interview characteristics and the artistic effect to be produced. The basic light distribution method is described below:

Main lighting lamp

As the main light source, the main light is usually called the key light. Use a PL- 1250 photographic lamp, and its position depends on what artistic effect you want to show. It can be supported by a supporting lamp holder or a microphone holder. PL- 1250 hot shoe connector has a 3/8 standard microphone screw connector, which is also the most convenient and cheap support frame.

Generally, the main light is placed on the left or right front side of the subject, which can also be determined according to the lighting conditions on the spot. The horizontal position is usually about 50 cm ~ 100 cm higher than the lens and about one meter away from the subject. The lighting arrangement in different positions will produce different effects. Once the position of the main light is selected, the basic lighting characteristics of the image can be determined and controlled.

We use a PL- 1250 camera lamp as the main lamp to create highlights and shadows, so that the image has a stereoscopic visual effect-stereoscopic. In practical application, we can adjust the brightness of the lamp properly or use the soft light board on the lamp body to change the shadow intensity and control the irradiation area.

Auxiliary lamp

The main lamp can cast a deep shadow, and the function of the auxiliary lamp is to add some light to the shadow in order to highlight the details of the shadow. The auxiliary lamp can be placed far away from the subject and supported by the supporting hand-held lamp holder, which is convenient to move and adjust the irradiation effect. It can also be supported by a microphone stand or mounted on a hot shoe of a camera.

The dominant position of the main lamp determines the basic tone of the shadow _ light area, so the intensity of the auxiliary lamp must be weaker than that of the main lamp, or by adjusting the brightness of the lamp, the soft light board on the lamp body is used.

One of the reasons for adding auxiliary lights is that when shooting, shadows usually look darker in the image than those seen by the naked eye. Auxiliary lighting can make the final image look more natural.

The ratio of auxiliary light to main light depends on the effect you want. If you need an effect with almost no shadow and contrast, you can use an auxiliary lamp with the same intensity as the main light. Instead, you should use weak auxiliary light, or not at all.

contour light

Profile light is one of the most important lights in all lighting scenes, because it can highlight the external lines of the subject and outline the outline of the subject. Use a PL- 1250 to complete this task, but the position should not be too far away from the subject, preferably within one meter, which can produce higher illumination. The position can be up and down or so according to the needs of artistic effect. If it is directly above, it will highlight the outline of the top of the head and shoulders. The upright can be supported by a matching lamp holder or microphone stand. If a microphone bracket with a crossbar is used, the lamp holder can be prevented from entering the lens line of sight, and the angle can be adjusted to the maximum.

Backlighting

In order to better reflect the scene, another lamp can be used to illuminate the background behind the subject, thus separating the subject from the background. The backlight also uses the lamp PL- 1250 in the suit. The common method is to put it underground behind the main body, which is more suitable for scenes with flat background.

It's up to you to decide which point behind the subject the background light should be aimed at. You can illuminate the whole background, you can also choose to illuminate a small area of the background, and you can also use a 3200K color temperature converter to warm the tone. If you want to illuminate a wider range, you can add a soft light board. When placing the background light, you should walk around and carefully examine the different effects, and the brightness should not be too large to avoid grabbing the main body.

Then, is it necessary to put the main light, auxiliary light, outline light and background light on when shooting? Lighting is actually to experiment each lamp one by one according to the needs of the scene, and to transform different lamp positions according to the basic lighting methods, so as to finally determine the lighting scheme that can produce the best effect.
