Butter sculpture: Butter sculpture is one of the three wonders of Ta 'er Temple. Butter sculpture is made of ghee, with exotic flowers and plants, pavilions, birds and animals, and various figures. Every year from beginning of winter, artists of butter sculpture cut pure butter into thin slices, add ice water, knead it like dough, and then mix it with various mineral dyes to make it bright and durable. Every year, during the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month, butter sculptures with vivid shapes, vivid images and exquisite craftsmanship will be exhibited, which has become a major event in Ta 'er Temple.
Thangka: Thangka is a colorful scroll painting with paper or cloth as the background and colored satin as the mounting. Thangka is not only a solemn instrument necessary for temples and monasteries, but also a sacrifice for the poor. Thangka can be divided into embroidered thangka, brocade thangka, applique thangka and pearl thangka according to different varieties and textures. Thangka is rich in themes and contents, mostly religious activities, and also reflects the history and national customs of the Tibetan people.
Mural art: Tibetan mural art has a long history. It began to sprout as early as 2 100 years ago. The artistic composition of Tibetan murals is rigorous and full, with dense layout, rich levels and lively and changeable. Painting is based on iron line drawing, with rigorous structure, vivid performance, bright colors and good contrast. Especially, the widespread application of "gold" not only "paints gold" and "pastes it dry", but also "grinds gold" in the brightest place of the performance picture. "Gold" is not only used for drawing lines. Painting patterns, as well as a large number of decorations, offerings and murals used by Buddha statues, are dazzling. The art of Tibetan murals provides us with vivid historical materials that can't be replaced by written records. It is a precious heritage in the cultural treasure house of the motherland.
Sculpture art: Tibetan sculpture art can be divided into court sculpture and folk sculpture in terms of painting style. The court sculpture is stiff and rigid, while the folk sculpture is free and bold, simple and rough. Folk sculptures are permeated with more colorful secular life, which are more common in scriptures, mani stones, rocks, ancient buildings and utensils.
