In July, a group of 7 people from the Department of Automation of Xiamen University went to houpu village Coca-Cola Hope Primary School in Lianhua Town, Tong 'an District, Xiamen to carry out summer social practice activities. In just six days, we held a variety of activities in houpu village Hope Primary School, such as computer training, lectures on science and technology, photo exhibition of university life, handwritten newspaper competition, fun sports meeting and speech contest, and conducted an in-depth investigation and interview on "what kind of social practice is combined with the people, which is welcomed by the people and also needed by college students". This activity was warmly welcomed and strongly supported by my classmates, the leaders of the village and school where Hope Primary School is located, students and parents. Through this activity, students:
1. Seriously study Theory of Three Represents in practice, deeply understand the selfless dedication and unremitting efforts of grassroots party member cadres to practice "Theory of Three Represents", and further enhance the initiative, enthusiasm and creativity of growth and progress;
2. A detailed social investigation report on college students' social practice has been formed (see annex);

(1) Pre-planning: dream-imagination-start planning-purposefully and step by step.
Since the two committees of Grade 2000 took office in April, I hope to do a good job in social practice in the summer of 2002, and strive to provide students with various practical opportunities and actively contact practical units. In the process of contact, the two committees of the class constantly exchanged views with counselors and relevant leaders of the department's student union, and finally aimed at "going to the countryside, teaching and social investigation".
At the beginning of June, combined with the notice of the Propaganda Department of the Ministry of Education of the Communist Party of China and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League about college students going to the countryside in summer, and considering the professional characteristics of our department and other related conditions, we selected the practice unit as houpu village Coca-Cola Hope Primary School in Lianhua Town, Tong 'an District, Xiamen, and got in touch with Ye Jinshe, the head of houpu village Center, and President Ye of Hope Primary School. In contact with them, we learned that houpu village Coca-Cola Hope Primary School in Lianhua Town, Tong 'an District, Xiamen City is located at the foot of Lianhua Mountain in Lianhua Town. The school building is a full-time primary school jointly invested by Coca-Cola Xiamen Co., Ltd. and Houpu Village Committee in recent two years. At present, there are about 200 students. The school holds "Hui Ze Center Summer Camp" every summer vacation. Hui Ze Center was founded by several college students in Lianhua Town. Students are mainly voluntary service, which has been successfully held for two sessions. The main activity is to hold various lectures. The content involves learning, universities, humanities, science and technology, etc. And invite students from famous universities to discuss with students and hold various competitions. Our pragmatic ideas have received positive response and strong support from the other side, and the two sides have initially reached an intention of cooperation.
(2) Medium-term planning: determine the details of activities-fund application-constantly changing and improving.
Over the next month, we began to plan activities step by step and apply for funds. Considering the professional characteristics of our department (computer-related majors), students' specialties (having a good understanding of computers) and the hardware conditions of the internship unit (having 17 computers and a microcomputer classroom, students have a preliminary understanding of computers), we initially set the activities as computer training, scientific lectures and social surveys with interviews as the main methods. The object of the activity is the fifth and sixth grade primary school students who participate in the summer camp, and the practice time is early.
In the preparation process, according to the actual situation of Hope Primary School, we changed the time and content of the activity many times: in order to match the summer practice arrangement of Hope Primary School and the use of the computer room, we changed the time from July 25th to July 27th, and then to July 26th. At the same time, according to the psychological characteristics of primary school students, the content of activities has been greatly enriched: the original computer training has been compressed, and on this basis, activities such as handwritten newspaper competition, fun sports meeting, speech competition, and college life photo exhibition have been added, and full preparations have been made to implement the task to everyone, and participants have been urged to complete their own multimedia courseware within a certain period of time.
(C), practice: improvise-timely summary-continuous improvement
At 2: 20 noon on July 26th, the delegation of seven people set out as scheduled and arrived at their destination at 4 o'clock. Our arrival was warmly received by the leaders of houpu village and Huize Center. We informed the village leaders of the actual arrangements these days and got a general picture of houpu village. Ye, deputy secretary of the village, said that the two committees of the village enthusiastically supported this practical activity and will fully cooperate. In the contact with the headmaster, we found that due to the lack of funds for the maintenance of the school computer room, the original three-day computer course can only be compressed to two days, which means that our arrangement must be changed again. B, teaching: Give full play to advantages, with various forms and remarkable effects.
Teaching is the main arrangement of this activity. During the planning process, we learned about the running of Hope Primary School in detail, the specific hardware conditions and teachers' equipment, and adopted some suggestions from primary school teachers, specifically positioning the teaching as "popularizing computer knowledge, mastering computer skills and broadening students' horizons". Therefore, the teaching content is divided into four parts: computer development and composition, operating system, computer network and its application, and computer application. Through classroom explanation, courseware demonstration and computer operation, the most advanced computer technology and its application were introduced to the trainees in a simple way, which played a significant role in broadening their horizons, expanding their thinking and enhancing their learning motivation.
There are also colorful contents such as flash demonstration, web page display, program explanation and operation competition. And according to the characteristics of students' interests, we adjusted our teaching methods in time, combining explanation with operation, and combining personal operation with special counseling. Through collective efforts, the five-day teaching plan was successfully completed, and the students and teachers received rave reviews.

Photo exhibition: Danan School Gate, Xi School Gate, Jiageng Square, Furong Lake and Baicheng Village ... beautiful pictures and wonderful speeches, which fascinated the little guys; Debate matches, basketball games, sports meetings, academic exchanges, class activities, welcome party ... picturesque university campus, colorful university life, little guys are beginning to be fascinated! Combined with our college life "Home, Home" photo exhibition, the little guys expressed their dreams and longings for the university and their ideals for life. Wow, the perfect effect! Speech contest: Because of shyness, students are afraid to speak on stage, so from the first day, everyone in the team is trying to persuade and demonstrate with personal experience. Students who finally decide to participate in the speech 10 are free to register. On the afternoon of 30th, we conducted intensive training for the students of 10, and at the same time let them feel the atmosphere on stage. At the closing ceremony of 3 1 morning, although some students were nervous, the effect was quite outstanding. It is a great leap from self-introduction to giving a speech on stage for 3 minutes.
Four handwritten newspapers are another achievement of this activity. It is worth noting that all the work from design, typesetting, content selection and art design is done by students themselves. We're just tutoring. Although the strokes are still immature, each stroke has a strong local flavor and innocence.
Crabs rush, move bricks across the river, catch the ball and move forward ... novel gameplay, unique thinking and interesting sports games show another elegance of sports; The hot scene and the positive spirit of struggle, the two-hour activity is too short. The lively nature of the children in the mountain village is unobstructed.

Ye Gen, the village chief, told us that the main income of houpu village is fruit forest income, and other production is mainly self-sufficiency. There are no enterprises in the village so far, so the income of village wealth is relatively single and limited. However, the village did not hesitate to invest in education. 1995 to raise funds, Coca-Cola Company transformed the village primary school, making it the first hope primary school in Tongan District. In recent years, the village committee has been paying attention to and supporting the development of primary schools, including supporting the establishment and activities of the village Hui Ze Center, supporting the joint construction of Hope Primary School and Coca-Cola, and striving for superior funds. Regarding "Theory of Three Represents", the village chief thinks that it is the biggest practice of "Theory of Three Represents" and the biggest goal of grassroots cadres to lead the villagers to become rich and well-off and improve their living conditions and environment. For college students' summer social practice, the village chief thinks that as long as they can give students an example and the motivation to study hard.

President Ye told us that this primary school is the first hope primary school in Tongan District, and learning will always be the focus and window of the school. The cultural and sports achievements of primary schools in Tongan District are obvious to all: the teaching level is above average, and primary schools often participate in various competitions in the school district or in a wider range, such as the Young Pioneers, Young Pioneers Squadron and Young Pioneers Brigade. Like last year's school district sports meeting, the primary school won the first place in the whole district. This year, Ye Yaping, a graduate of this school, won the first place in the whole region in the initial test. These are inseparable from the hard work of school teachers. President Ye believes that in such a school atmosphere and environment, teachers should devote themselves to their work, study hard and strictly implement "Teachers' Morality and Style" which is a comprehensive implementation and embodiment of Theory of Three Represents. They always combine the important thought of "Theory of Three Represents" with teaching practice to make their work regular, so that when the superiors come down to check, they will not become a mere formality. As for college students' summer social practice, the principal believes that as long as the activities are arranged reasonably, it will not bring pressure to teachers and students. For teachers, although it is rare to have a holiday time and have a good rest and rectification, I also hope that college students will come down to give lessons to the children. As long as the time arrangement is reasonable, it is a warm welcome to the teacher. For rural students, they climb up and down all day, full of energy and strong desire to learn, so they are very willing to come to school to attend classes in the summer vacation if they meet their tastes.

Teacher Ye Yanguo told us that they often transfer schools. Houpu village primary school is better (it belongs to Pingyuan primary school), and the farthest they go is the primary school such as military camp (which is dozens of kilometers away from houpu village). It is common to stay in the mountains for several months, and some even stay for a year or even years. For them, watching their children grow up is their greatest happiness. As he teaches mathematics and is also a computer teacher in the school, he is responsible for the maintenance and teaching of the whole microcomputer classroom, so he naturally supports our activities and hopes to have the opportunity to communicate with college students in order to master the latest technology.

The parents of student Ye Yaping told us that both his children participated in our summer camp. They welcomed us very much. Because of this, although the farm is busy, when they don't ask their children to help with farm work, they just hope that their children can learn more knowledge. As for Yaping's achievements, they said that a relaxed family environment is the most important thing. Too much pressure is counterproductive. Although there is not much culture, children's success is their greatest wish. They hope that our arrival will bring children an experience and tell them that the outside world is wonderful and study hard.

Discussion is one of the greatest gains of our activities. For us who have lived in the corner for a long time, this is the best opportunity to go deep into the countryside and experience the society. Through interviews, we have a deeper understanding of the importance of science and technology and knowledge to the countryside, the importance and necessity of serving the society with what we have learned, and strengthened our determination and confidence in studying hard, repaying the people and serving the motherland.
■ Third, shortcomings and deficiencies:
Because it is the first time to carry out activities aimed at primary school students, I don't have enough knowledge and understanding of the psychological characteristics of primary school students, so I can only explore slowly and constantly improve and perfect; Due to the limited scale of activities, it is impossible to attract more students to participate and accept exercise; Due to the limitation of hardware conditions in Hope Primary School, it is impossible to recruit more students, so almost every day, students' application for joining is rejected. Due to limited funds, we can only go for six days, only after the students "teacher, can you stay a few more days?" Leave in a hurry to stay. The above shortcomings and deficiencies will be the motivation and reference for us to continue our efforts. We will try to do better and better.
