Seven structural mistakes that should be paid attention to in photography
The first error: Off-grid
Many times when people travel or go out, they often use relatively tall backgrounds, such as buildings and landscapes. In order to take all the scenery into photos, they often ignore the position of people in the picture, and often people are crowded in a corner, even showing only one head, which destroys the overall effect of the picture and is very unsightly.
Solution: When shooting a big scene, adjust the position of the person to make the person occupy the theme position in the composition, and at the same time bring the scenery into the picture.
The second mistake: the picture is too full.
Some beginners like to make the subject stand tall and full of picture sense when taking pictures, which is not conducive to the cutting in the post-production process of photos. At the same time, it will make the work look stiff and rigid.
Solution: When shooting, properly reserve 3/4- 1/3 space above the subject to make the picture look transparent and comfortable.
The third mistake: the horizon is tilted.
In many photos, the ground plane is inclined, which makes people feel as if they have lost their foothold, and the effect of architecture and scenery is greatly reduced, which makes the whole picture unbalanced and uncomfortable.
Solution: Just keep the view border parallel to the horizon when shooting.
The fourth mistake: the picture is suffocating and depressing.
When shooting a portrait on the side or an object with forward momentum, there is no space left in front of the main body of the picture, which gives people a sense of suffocation and makes the picture look dull and depressed.
Solution: Leave a certain space in the direction facing the portrait or the trend direction of the object.
The fifth mistake: attachment entanglement.
Improper selection of background leads to the phenomenon of long chimneys on the shoulders and big branches on the heads, which destroys the original image of the characters.
Solution: Observe the picture carefully before shooting, and don't ignore the background.
The sixth mistake: the picture is split
When shooting, the position of the horizon was not handled properly, and it was placed in the middle of the picture, which split the picture in two and lacked a sense of harmony and unity.
Solution: The horizon below 1/3 will make the picture look more comfortable.
The seventh mistake: usurped the role of the host.
There is too much background in the picture, which makes the main object in a secondary position, but it doesn't attract attention.
Solution: put the subject around the center of the picture and shoot the subject in focus.
These are just some of the most common mistakes. Of course, we should also combine many factors such as camera and lens, but the overall composition principle remains unchanged. I hope it will help everyone.
