Personal experience

Shuhuang Zhong 1925 was born in a poor family in Nanjing. Because his father died young and didn't graduate from junior high school, he dropped out of school and came to Shanghai to make a living. At first, he was an apprentice for a period of time, and then he entered Shanghai Journalism College with the support of relatives and friends. He wanted to be a reporter, but later, he turned to the stage of drama. 1946 10, the Kunlun film company led by the underground party was established in Shanghai. Shuhuang Zhong took part in the company's actor exam, and among the seven or eight thousand people who came to take the exam, he was admitted with excellent results. Although the working and living conditions were very difficult at that time, he saw some progressive films such as Clouds and the Moon on Eight Thousand Miles, A River Flowing East, etc. filmed by Kunlun, which spoke the people's mind and aroused strong resonance among the audience. He really felt that he had chosen the right path. Especially through the contact with Shi Dongshan, Shen Fu, Zhao Dan, Chen Liting and others, I have a clearer understanding of the issues that art should be beneficial to life and society, and that good works of art must have strong social significance. These old-timers in the film industry became his first teachers in politics and art.

From 1946 10 to national liberation, although it was only a short period of three years, it was a very important period in which Shuhuang Zhong's outlook on life and art was formed. During this period, Shuhuang Zhong participated in the filming of a river flowing eastward, a new scene is in my heart, a spring in captivity and Wu Xunchuan. He played a minor role in the first two films. In "Smooth Spring", he plays the captain of the drama team with many scenes. In Wu Xunchuan, he plays Zhao Xiong, the landlord's housekeeper.

Before and after the national liberation, Shuhuang Zhong enthusiastically participated in the "Kunlun" Art Troupe and organized performances in schools and factories to welcome and celebrate the birth of the new China.

After liberation, Shuhuang Zhong's first film was People's Hands, written by Xia Yan and directed by Chen Liting. In the film, he plays a retained public security officer. Since then, I have participated in the filming of five films in Kunlun, such as My Husband and Wife, Song of Red Flowers, Song of a Floating Life and Blessing for Children. Played the role of trade union director, public manager, tricycle worker, revolutionary fighter, etc.

1953, Shuhuang Zhong and Kunlun Film Company merged into Shanghai Film Studio. After living in the factory for a long time, he took part in the performance of the drama Hero Position. Soon, he took part in the filming of Scout Crossing the River, playing the role of Scout Yang Wei. Then, he played the police chief in "tight encirclement"; Play the boatswain Ma Jun who braved the wind and waves.

At the end of 1950s, Shuhuang Zhong not only made five or six "leap-forward movies" such as The First Express of Socialism, Hot Wave and Cycas Bloom, but also participated in the filming of Changhong Uprising, Legend of Luban, Underground Route and Spring Man.

In "Underground Route" directed by Gu Eryi, Shuhuang Zhong plays heroes-underground party member and steamboat driver Tomlinson Palace. In order to open up an underground passage and transport weapons and radio stations to guerrilla base areas, under the cover of helping the captain transport smuggled goods, he waged intense struggles with enemy agents with boatmen such as Jiang Caidi and underground party member rudder Awang. The successful shaping of Linsen Palace not only marks Shuhuang Zhong's maturity in performing arts, but also makes him a movie actor deeply loved by the audience.

Since the early 1960s, Shuhuang Zhong has entered the golden age of artistic creation. During this period, he not only filmed Red Sun and Jinsha River, but also participated in the filming of Independent Brigade and Enemy at the Gates at the invitation of Chang Ying.

In "Independent Brigade" written and directed by Lu and Rebecca, he plays Ye Yongmao, a guerrilla appointed by the Party to transform the spontaneous team. Because he portrayed the role deeply, dignified and upright, and several other main actors, such as Guo Zhenqing, who played Malone, performed beautifully, the film was well received by the audience after its release.

Enemy at the Gates, written by Bai Bian and directed by Lin Nong, is a film with excellent editing, directing and acting skills. In this film, he plays Zheng, the head of a regiment of the 369th Division of the Kuomintang. This is a character with intense inner conflict and complex and contradictory personality, which plays an important role in the whole film. Shuhuang Zhong, with his profound and true inner experience, vivid external movements and vivid facial expressions, made this role full of flesh and blood, authentic and credible, and left an unforgettable impression on the audience.

In 1970s, Shuhuang Zhong played a military representative of the Red Age. 1978, Su Li and Zhang Jianyou directed the film Amazing, playing Gu Daqi.

Shuhuang Zhong always pursues a true and simple style in performing arts; At the same time, we attach great importance to reflecting the depth of life. His creative attitude is serious and meticulous. This is inseparable from the influence of realistic artists such as Shi Dongshan, Shen Fu and Zhao Dan in Kunlun period.

Since 1975, Shuhuang Zhong turned to directing. After directing Young People independently and co-directing two unpublished films with Wang Jie, he co-directed Bai Lianhua with Sun Yongping in 1980. This film takes Wang Ming's second route as the main line, criticizes the left-leaning thought, and emphasizes that the revolutionary ranks should trust each other, respect each other, unite closely, and take the enemy as the main theme. After the film was released. Shuhuang Zhong is also preparing to shoot a film that reflects that judo athletes dedicate their limited youth to the sports cause of the motherland and win glory for the country. He also plans to screen the novel Bao Gu by the famous film actor Wang Ying.

Although Shuhuang Zhong turned to be a director as early as the mid-1970s, and his talent as a director was first revealed through Bai Lianhua, he is still an actor in the eyes of the audience. When people mention his name, the first thing that comes to mind is the lifelike characters he created on the screen, such as Lin Senguan, Ye Yongmao and Zheng. It can be seen that this great actor with strange figure and elegant manners left a deep impression on the audience.

On August 25th, 2005, Shuhuang Zhong died in Shanghai one day later than Guo Zhenqing due to illness, at the age of 8 1.

use few words

196 1 year, Tang, director of Shanghai Film Factory, planned to shoot a large-scale military film "Red Sun", and initially selected to play the reckless and honest head of the play. Li Po is borrowed from Bayi Factory and plays Shen Zhenxin, the commander of the army. But later, the director thought that Zhang Fa of Shanghai Film Studio was more suitable to play Shen. As the leader of the cast, Shuhuang Zhong stepped aside, giving the role of Liu Sheng's head to Li Po who was replaced, and replacing his role with Chen Jian, the political commissar of the Youth League. Unexpectedly, due to the plot, Liang Bin, the deputy commander-in-chief originally played by Kang Tai, had to be deleted during the filming. Considering Kangtai's psychological endurance. Take the initiative to give way to the political commissar of Kangtai's troupe and replace himself with Zhu, the army chief of staff, who said a few words in front of the battle map without any scene. The director appreciates Shuhuang Zhong's noble style very much. Later, Shuhuang Zhong became friends with Li Bai and Kang Tai.

1963, Shuhuang Zhong just returned from the seat of Aba Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, where he finished filming the role of Red Army commander on the Jinsha River. At the invitation of director Wang Yan of Changying Factory, he starred in Ye Yongmao, the hero of Independent Brigade. The male No.2 Malone in the film is played by the famous actor Guo Zhenqing.

The location of the "independent brigade" is in southern Jiangxi and eastern Guangdong. The shooting went well at first, but in the middle of shooting, the progress was extremely unsatisfactory. In one scene, the film crew set off at three o'clock in the morning and trudged fifteen or sixteen miles in the night fog to the selected hill. When the sun rose in the morning, they took a full shot of Ye Yongmao rushing down from the mountain with a medium shot and a close shot. Shuhuang Zhong is wearing sandals, but the soles are worn out. In order to prevent slipping, the audience specially glued worn bicycle tires to the soles. Because dew stuck to the grass on the mountain and the bottom of the tire slipped, Shuhuang Zhong tried several times and always slipped. But time waits for no one, the sun is coming out. At that time, it was foggy and the mountains were beautiful. I saw Shuhuang Zhong rushing down from the mountain with clouds, rushing to the prescribed mirror, clutching his own feet, and the camera passed at the moment. However, due to overexertion, Shuhuang Zhong broke a toe, and the back of his left foot immediately became a blood bubble. When he was taken to Shaoguan Hospital, Shuhuang Zhong's left back was swollen and purple, and the situation was very urgent. The doctor diagnosed that it would take a month to walk. See the rest of the more than forty shots, all need Shuhuang Zhong, the film crew hurriedly to the local prefectural party committee for help. The prefectural party Committee invited three old doctors with superb medical skills for collective consultation and used Chinese herbal medicine for external application and oral administration. A few days later, Shuhuang Zhong's feet disappeared, and in less than half a month, he returned to the studio.

However, on the second day after the large group returned to Changchun, due to the poor management of the photography assistant, many shots were exposed and needed to be re-shot, so the film crew had to return to Danxia Mountain in Shaoguan. Unexpectedly, it rained for more than forty days, and the film crew was trapped in a humble hotel on the mountain. Food was sent by people at the foot of the mountain in baskets, which gave Shuhuang Zhong a rare opportunity to treat foot disease.

One day, the Danxia Mountain, shrouded in hazy rain and fog, gradually revealed a clear outline. In the faint rain and fog, someone found a mountain shape in the mountains, like a reclining Buddha lying on the river. The local people say that this is a "female corpse blocking the river" and the feng shui is not good. The film crew can't help complaining, no wonder we are unlucky! Shuhuang Zhong looked at this rare natural landscape and couldn't help mumbling: "Such a beautiful scenery should be renamed as' Beauty Evening Makeup'!" The next day it cleared up, and everyone laughed: "Shuhuang Zhong flattered the fairy." At the director's command, he quickly made up dozens of shots in two days and won the class. The name of "beauty evening makeup" spread from this and became a good choice for local viewing natural scenery.
