Nubian Z 17S experience: a mobile phone with autumn flavor.

But for friends who are familiar with the mobile phone circle, Nubia is a brand that speaks with products. After five years of product iteration, "borderless design" and "camera phone" have gradually become their unique brand labels. Under the trend of full screen, Nubia also followed the trend, integrating the two elements of full screen and borderless, and launched its first full screen product-Nubian Z 17S.

Perhaps influenced by my first impression, perhaps because of my obsession with niche brands, the author chose to give up "a bucket machine" in his hand and experience this recently released Nubian Z 17S. It coincides with the golden autumn season in Beijing. About three or five friends took a walk in the suburbs, and then took some photos to share the experience of Nubian Z 17S.

Full screen+borderless stunning, aurora blue introverted.

At first sight of Nubian Z 17S, the narrow forehead and chin are impressive, and the rounded and comprehensive screen is more exquisite. Due to the introduction of borderless design, the author even has the illusion of Samsung Note8 E8. After all, the visual unbounded feeling created by the two models is very similar, except that Samsung Note 8 visually hides the border through the curvature of the curved screen, while Nubian Z 17S hides the border through light refraction, and the latter is more like the face-to-face screen version of the former.

In the design of flagship mobile phone, double-sided glass+metal middle frame has become a consensus. Nubian Z 17S adopts a four-curved 3D glass back shell, which is warm to the touch. However, it is a pity that Nubian Z 17S did not handle the transition between the middle frame and the glass well, and the edge of the middle frame was slightly higher than the glass back shell, which led to the unsmooth transition between the two materials. When the author holds the mobile phone in one hand, his fingers will habitually cross this "hurdle" and feel a certain sense of cutting. Fortunately, it is within an acceptable range and does not affect daily use.

I must admit my love for blue, so I chose Nubian Z 17S with aurora blue color without hesitation. In terms of perception, this color is deeper, more similar to the color scheme of navy blue to some extent, and has a good integration with the prominent middle frame. Compared with the bright blue of "one bucket machine", the luster of Aurora Blue is more restrained and suitable for a wider range of people.

Large pixel+dual-core focus, shoot delicious autumn.

When taking pictures, Nubian Z 17S has 23 million+12 million dual cameras, of which12 million pixel camera is the main camera, and F 1.8 has a large aperture, which supports full-pixel dual-core focusing technology and has excellent paper photography strength. It happens to be a crisp autumn season. I also went out with Nubian Z 17S and took a photo of golden ginkgo and a century-old temple. Let's take a look at the proofs.

It should be said that thanks to the 1.4μm large pixel configuration of Nubian Z 17S main camera, the light input is sufficient and the color is very transparent, so it is easy to take tasteful photos. And because of the introduction of dual-core focusing, macro shooting is very reliable, and the large aperture of F 1.8 is also very prominent in the background blur, and the scenes such as deciduous weeds are very shocking.

In the overall shooting experience, the focusing and imaging of Nubian Z 17S are all done in one go, without procrastination, which is still commendable.

Nubian Z 17S also provides a variety of professional modes, including multiple exposure, star orbit, light painting and so on. It caters to the needs of many photographers. Of course, automatic mode is obviously the first choice for the author to shoot at will, and I haven't tried much about it, so I'll add it later.

Edge gestures are novel, and one-handed optimization is a bit embarrassing.

Due to the uniqueness of the hardware, this requires Nubia to adapt to the UI. The UI customization of Nubian Z 17S mainly focuses on two points: edge gesture and one-handed optimization, which we will explain below.

Edge gesture: For borderless design, Nubian Z 17S developed a set of FiT edge interaction system, including edge sliding to switch the current task, cleaning the background, adjusting brightness and volume, etc. This time Nubia added a FIT card, which can be drawn along the edge. The content presented is similar to the negative screen of other UIs in China, which combines express delivery, transportation and recent pictures. The real negative screen has become Nubian's quick photo option, which is convenient to enter a variety of professional photo modes and consolidate the label of "camera phone".

According to practical experience, it takes a while to get used to triggering edge gestures, and switching tasks may be the most commonly used operation. When holding it with one hand, the thumb slides a short distance along the edge to turn pages, which works well with the animation of turning pages.

One-handed optimization: Compared with the one-handed optimization realized by UI equivalent reduction, Nubian's one-handed optimization is novel and bold. Taking the SMS application as an example, the UI presents an "inverted T" layout, the category options are at the bottom of the screen, the information is arranged from bottom to top in chronological order, and the latest news is presented at the bottom. Browsing the news before is just the opposite of our habit. Similar designs also appear on desktop folders, contacts, dialing and other pages.

Nubian's design idea is very simple, putting the information that users are most likely to need in the position that is the easiest to operate with one hand. The original intention is good, but it obviously challenges our operating habits. Moreover, the layout of third-party applications is still the same, and this different interaction habit needs the author's time to adapt.

NeoCharge fast charging, must be the original line.

Nubian Z 17S supports NeoCharge fast charging, and the maximum power can reach 26W. The built-in 3 100mAh battery only takes 70 minutes to fully charge, and the result is satisfactory. However, it should be reminded that the experience of NeoCharge requires not only the original charging head, but also the original charging cable. At present, this charging set has not been launched in the official mall.

Personally, I think Nubian Z 17S is full screen+borderless in design, snapdragon 835 in performance, front and rear dual cameras and battery flash charging, and there are some ideas on the system. Although there are some habitual discomforts, there are no obvious shortcomings, and the price starting from 2999 yuan is not inappropriate today. But it's still the original problem, and the smell of wine is also afraid of the deep alley. How to get more sound volume and attention in Nubia is an urgent problem to be solved outside the product.
