What disease is vitiligo?
Vitiligo is an acquired depigmentation skin disease. The etiology of vitiligo is complicated, but it is generally recognized that vitiligo is an autoimmune-related skin disease. Autoimmune antibodies are produced in the body, or inflammatory cells lead to the decline of melanogenesis function of melanocytes, or directly destroy melanocytes, resulting in whitening of skin. Many vitiligo patients' autoimmune disorders are closely related to mental factors, and some vitiligo patients themselves can also find some autoantibodies. Clinically, vitiligo is characterized by one or more pigment fading spots with clear boundaries. After a long time, it will become pigment loss spots, and vitiligo lesions can appear anywhere, while vitiligo lesions generally have no conscious symptoms, except for color changes, and the texture of the skin has not changed.
