Why is the face black in backlight?

Because the brightness of the face is lower than the average brightness. If you use environmental evaluation to measure light and use automatic mode to shoot backlight illumination, there is no other technical means, and it is inevitable that your face will be black.

Backlight shooting, the solution to the black face of the characters is as follows:

1. It is recommended to use aperture priority mode, spot metering and then "exposure compensation" to shoot, that is, increase exposure to make the face brighter.

2. Use a reflector or a photographic fill light to fill the face of the person, so that the whole image can be exposed normally.

In hot summer, the light lasts longer. If shooting outdoors, choosing the right time is also an important factor to take good photos. According to many photographers, the best lighting time for outdoor shooting is about one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. At this time, the sunshine is softer, and the portrait taken is not only beautiful, but also more stereoscopic.

Techniques of backlight shooting:

1, metering: metering is actually the key to not being black. Generally speaking, it is recommended to use spot metering in backlight shooting, but I think spot metering is too small to judge the exposure balance when changing scenes, so I personally prefer to use central focus metering, and add 1~2 exposure compensation on this basis to get a photo with basic details of the face and a certain background.

2, focusing: Because it is backlight, the general face is the darkest place in the picture, so focusing often fails. The secret of focusing is to shoot a portrait with side backlight, focusing on the brightest part of the face, such as the tip of the nose and the highlights on the contour line of half of the face. Once autofocus is successful, you can adjust the lens to manual focus mode and take more photos on this basis.
