Yes, the new Chevrolet Explorer can see the latest emotional design language of Chevrolet products at a glance. Even if the side lines have not changed, the "anger value" of the new car at the head and tail parts has been obviously increased by the designer. Chrome-plated decorative strips across the front of the car divide the long and narrow LED headlights into upper and lower parts, and the ends of the decorative strips extending left and right and up and down gradually converge into sharp corners, just like fierce tattoos carved on the car body. On this "RS" series model I drive, a full set of dark-colored accessories, including decoration and logo, further enhance the tough guy image of the vehicle. The redesigned taillights also reflect the flying wing type, and the large-diameter four-outlet exhaust exposed at the rear of the "RS" series models is full of momentum (at the same time, it also creates a more flexible and louder exhaust sound). It seems that some changes in the new car are not perfect. But I can assure you that the lost power of 17kW has not brought much change to the driving experience of the new model. I am particularly impressed by the old 2.0T model, that is, when the engine is accelerating at full throttle at medium and low speed, the powerful power of the engine sometimes brings slight torque steering, and the yellow ESP warning light on the instrument panel even flashes strongly because of the intervention of the driving acceleration slip regulation. For new explorers, a similar situation has never happened, which should also be related to the four wider tires selected for the new car.
Apart from this extreme state, I basically can't feel the difference between the old and new models in driving experience in my daily driving operation. The RS series of the new explorer is still the medium-sized SUV with simple operation, calm and comfortable, and strong momentum when stepping on the accelerator. The forward range of the engine (the maximum torque output speed of the 2.0T engine is advanced from the previous 2,000-5,300r/min to1.500-4,000r/min) can be more flexibly matched with the 9-speed automatic manual transmission when the city is slow. Due to the introduction of three-stage intelligent cylinder shifting technology in the new generation of 2.0T engines, the comprehensive fuel consumption reference value of new cars has actually decreased by nearly 1 1%, and the four-wheel drive model has decreased from the original 8.2L/ 100km to the new 7.3L/ 100km. So, is the new RS series more pleasing?
Generally speaking, as an annual redesigned product, the changes so far are enough to make customers shine. In fact, new explorers have also improved driving convenience in many details. The first thing that helped me pull the grass was that the new car finally joined the ACC adaptive cruise system from the middle of the car-this is exactly what I spit before (the previous explorer only provided cruise control function, but it was also a product of nearly 250,000). At the same time, the full-function electronic stability system of the new car has added the electronic auxiliary braking function of E-Boost. In this way, new explorers have a very rich auxiliary driving system (including blind zone warning, rear traffic warning, lane keeping assistance, lane change assistance, frontal collision warning, collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning, adaptive high beam and front distance warning) from the beginning of car allocation.
I remember that about two years ago, the photographer and I drove more than 1000 kilometers by car in a Chevrolet Explorer. At that time, the price of the 2.0T top car we drove was 250,900.
