Generation mechanism of polarized light

Method one

Plane polarized light can be obtained by reflection, multiple refraction, birefringence and selective absorption. A polarizer with selective absorption can be used to produce plane polarized light.

Method 2

Polarizer is a kind of film made by manual method, which is made by arranging fine particles with strong selective absorption in a transparent adhesive layer in a special way. It allows the light passing through a certain electric vector vibration direction (this direction is called polarization direction) to absorb the light vibrating perpendicular to it, that is, it has dichroism. So after natural light passes through the polarizer, the transmitted light basically becomes plane polarized light. Polarizer is a widely used polarizer because it is easy to make.
