Introduction to Jiang Qisheng

Jiang Qisheng was born in Yu County, Shaanxi Province (now Hu County) in December 1917. In 1937, he participated in the revolution in Yan'an and studied at Northern Shaanxi Public School. In 1946, he worked for Xinhua News Agency and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. He has successively served as editor of the International Department of Xinhua News Agency, deputy director of the chief editorial office, deputy director of the news photography editorial department, photojournalist, executive director of the Press Photographers Association, president of the China Press Photography Society, director of the China Federation of Press Societies, and All-China Journalists Association.
