I believe that most people's first impression of wedding photographers is holding large professional camera equipment. In addition to all kinds of shots with long guns and short guns, in the case that the indoor light source in Taiwan Province Province is not ideal at present, in order to create a better atmosphere, more flashlights are naturally necessary.

First of all, I want to explain that most people intuitively think that flash is used for lighting in the case of insufficient light. But for photographers with keen light, illuminating the subject is only an additional function, and combining the ratio of flash to on-site light source to achieve visual benefits is our goal; Whether it is the choice of good or bad color development, the principle of improving stereoscopic impression by light ratio, or creating an environment different from the naked eye, etc.

If I explain to you the above principle of using light, I'm afraid Duke Zhou will find you easily! After all, as far as the professional field is concerned, taking photos and using light books are separate topics, which are of course difficult for amateurs to understand.

So I will simply give a few examples that I often use in my own wedding photography practice, so that you can be more measured when watching a dazzling collection of works.

1. The separation of light: highlighting new people and a kind of backlight that you can't put down. This is almost the basic theme of off-plane flash. The high-light lines on the edge of the characters naturally separate the newcomers from the environment, and the backlight is transmitted, adding more atmosphere.

Continuous light lamps are also used in the same way.

2. Simulated projection lamp: Let the venue without lighting equipment also have the focusing effect of the wedding banquet hall. Relatively simple venues, such as water mats, activity centers and even seafood restaurants, are not only worrying for newcomers, but also for photographers to create possibilities in a messy and unattractive space.

Special effects with specific shots; Without the projector, the tension will be insufficient.

3. Simulated window lamp: Invincible window lamp melts every bride's heart. Imagine that when the light from the soft and meticulous big window falls on the couple, your eyes will really shine; But in a small window or windowless environment, there is no such benefit unless it is simulated manually.

Small window light is enhanced into large window light; Even if there is no window, you can build a big window lamp.

4. Reduce the environmental impact: Contrast in a messy environment Sometimes there are many sundries in the environment where newcomers are located, and there is not much room for people to be inconspicuous. How to hide those unpopular elements or make them inconspicuous when shooting is very important.

Weaken the visual experience of other people or objects in the room to highlight the theme.

Under the narrow red carpet and post-treatment, guests can hide as much as they can.

5. Supplementary color development: A panacea for crystal clear skin With the progress of the times, the artificial light sources in the venues are getting better and better, but there are still many lamps with color cast and insufficient color development; This is also the biggest factor for the huge gap between the shooting results of relatives and friends and the eye vision. So obviously the scene is very bright, but our flash is still flashing, especially some local pictures.

Whether fill light is natural or not is the key to success or failure!

The color temperature of the background and foreground can also be close to harmony without confusion.

The photographer's lighting control includes not only flash but also continuous light source, but it still has the limitations of its subjective environment and cannot be mastered from beginning to end. This article only shares personal experience, hoping to help everyone.
