How to play the background lighting in the studio?

(1) 1 soft light

This is the simplest and most commonly used, only a soft light is needed. You can choose to put it on the left or right side of the model, and the soft light should be placed a little higher than the model, at a 45-degree corner from above.

(2) Prominence

If you think it's too dark to use only one soft light, you can put a reflector opposite the main light. Refracting part of the light makes the details that need to be highlighted clearer and highlights the whole subject.

(3) Strengthen the contrast

The purpose of using a reflector is to increase brightness, while using a black reflector is the opposite. Technically, its function is not to reflect light, so it can also be called "dimming board" or "light absorption board". The reason for using a black reflector is to reduce the brightness of the main body side and make the photo more contrast.

(4) backlight type

If you want to add a little different effect to the photo, you can use the backlight to highlight the hair layer of the model and highlight it at the edge of the model's body.

(5) Side lights

The intensity of soft orange is higher than the side light, which can supplement the front of the model and reduce the contrast between light and dark.

(6) Three Lamps District

Adding two different colors of lights behind the model can make a special effect for the photo, which is very suitable for shooting fashion.
