In the 17th and 18th centuries, philosophers regarded "camera ob-scura" as a symbol of the relationship between man and reality. "cameraobscura" is to open a pinhole on the outside of a black box and embed it into the lens. A pinhole camera that lets light enter and projects the outside scene into it. To give a few examples, Descartes thinks that this mirror is equivalent to the human eye (Refractive Optics), which means that the outside natural world is created by God and is "real" in it. But we can't directly understand the whole face of nature. It should be seen through the eyes. The eyes are the only small holes that can peep into the world. John Locke's thought is more obvious. He said in "The Theory of Human Reason" (169): "Human reason seems to be a small room that completely closes the light except for piercing holes to project the appearance (image) of external things or some external concepts."
That is, there is almost no difference between the two. "Reality" is similar to a ray of light entering a black box through a small hole. The light source is far away and we can't see where it is, but we have no choice but to seek the light source through this small hole (that is, "truth"). In addition, Leibniz is the same. He said in "Monographs" (1714): The natural world is composed of "monads", and all of them. There is no "window" to negotiate with the outside world. People can only contact the world through such a "list". Therefore, Leibniz describes the relationship between people and the world by peeping from the apex of the cone, saying, "The light that spreads with the cone represents the difference between people's perception and God's perspective."
Generally speaking, they are pursuing the method of tracing back the light to find a light source (that is, "truth"), which is called "truth". In the 17th and 18th centuries, there was a characteristic of * * * communication. "Truth" has been far away from human beings, but everyone believes in the existence of "truth", and they also believe that if we catch up with it perseveringly, we will certainly be able to grasp this "truth".
