All winners of this competition will receive Sony digital imaging equipment, and their works will be included in the portfolio, and will also be exhibited to the public at the 20 19 Sony World Photography Competition exhibition held at Somerset Palace in London.
The judges praised the winners for expressing and explaining the life and survival problems facing the world. Mike Trow, chairman of the professional group, commented that this year's entries "caused great controversy and interest in the jury" and "broke through the boundaries of photography and challenged the audience's cognition and expectation".
The Sony World Photography Competition, sponsored by the World Photography Organization, is one of the largest and most prestigious photography competitions in the world. 12 Sony World Photography Competition received a total of 326,997 works from 195 countries and regions, breaking the record and showing the world's outstanding contemporary photography works in the past year.
Five Dimensions is a shooting project of Italian Bologna photographer Federico Bolela. Borella holds a degree in classical literature and a master's degree in photojournalism, and is an internationally renowned freelance photojournalist. He has many years of photojournalism experience, and is also a photographer and news educator.
Pay attention to the problem of male suicide in Tamil Nadu, southern India, which is suffering from the worst drought in 140 years. This question is based on a study by Berkeley University, which found the relationship between climate change and the rising suicide rate of Indian farmers. Borella reveals the impact of climate change on this agricultural area and its community through a series of vivid and powerful images. These photos depict agricultural landscapes, memorials of deceased farmers and portraits of those who stayed behind.
Mike Trow commented: "With global warming changing people's lives faster and faster-especially in developing and underdeveloped countries-the works of artists like Borella are becoming more and more necessary."
