What do you mean by straight JPG and raw discussed in the SLR forum?
JPG takes photos directly in the common default format. Photos are JPG files, which are generated by processing and compressing CMOS signals read inside the camera. RAW is the original format of the camera, which is read directly from the camera CMOS without internal processing of the camera. Compared with JPG, the advantage of RAW format is that it can get the best imaging quality and has more room for post-processing (because the internal processing of the camera is put on the computer), but its file size will be very large. Generally speaking, JPG is enough, and only very professional people will deliberately use the RAW format. As far as general use is concerned, RAW is too complicated and takes up a lot of space (the maximum size of a RAW file with pixels of 1800W is 25MB, and the average RAW file is about 15MB), which makes it impossible for general picture browsing software to browse.
