Qin Qiong (? - 638), courtesy name Shubao, was born in Licheng, Qizhou (now Jinan City, Shandong Province), and was a famous general in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasties. He was a general of the Sui Dynasty at first, and served under Lai Hu'er, Zhang Xutuo and Pei Renji successively. He was famous far and wide for his bravery.

Later, Pei Renji defected to Li Mi, the leader of the Wagang army. After the defeat of Wagang, he turned to Wang Shichong. Seeing that Wang Shichong was treacherous, he defected to Li Tang together with Cheng Yaojin and others. After surrendering to the Tang Dynasty, he followed Li Shimin in the north and south. He was a brave general who could take the heads of enemy generals in an army of thousands of horses, but he was also wounded all over.

After the unification of the Tang Dynasty, Qin Qiong suffered from a long-term illness and died of illness in the twelfth year of Zhenguan (638). During his lifetime, he was promoted to General Zuo Wuwei and Duke Yi. After his death, he was given the title of Governor of Xuzhou and Duke Hu, with the posthumous title "Zhuang". In the 17th year of Zhenguan, he was listed as the twenty-four heroes of Lingyan Pavilion.

It happened that Wang Shichong came to attack Wagang, Li Mi's army was defeated, Qin Qiong surrendered to Wang Shichong, and Wang Shichong appointed Qin Qiong as the general of Longxiang.

However, Wang Shichong proclaimed himself emperor in 619 AD and executed Pei Renji. Qin Qiong and Cheng Yaojin could not understand Wang Shichong's behavior and went to Li Tang. Later, Qin Qiong worked for Li Shimin and his son, and won the respect of Li Yuan.

After the founding of the Tang Dynasty, Qin Qiong followed Li Shimin on various expeditions, and participated in the Xuanwumen Incident in 623 AD.
