Can a digital camera take black and white photos?
1. Select black and white photography mode to shoot.
The basic function of a digital camera is to take color photos, so before taking black and white photos, you should make corresponding choices in the "Function Menu" in advance. Once the black-and-white photography mode is determined, the image displayed on the camera display screen also presents a black-and-white effect, so that the photographer can keep an intuitive feeling when choosing the framing material. After shooting, you need to turn off the black-and-white photography mode and enter the standard mode before you can shoot normally.
2. Simulate the effect of adding a filter.
Traditional black and white film is also called "full color film", that is, film can be sensitive to various colors. Comparatively speaking, holograms are relatively insensitive to green light and sensitive to blue light. Therefore, when shooting in black and white, you can choose to add "filters" commonly used in film photography such as yellow, orange, red and green according to your own requirements to feel the effect of simulating the contrast of adding filters. However, the effect of adding a digital camera seems to be not obvious and needs to be tested.
3. It is necessary to understand the tone change brought by color conversion.
Black-and-white photography and color photography are not only differences in color expression, but also changes in color will involve changes in hue. After color film is converted into black and white film, the color relationship of photos will change, and the contrast will also change. The original bright photos may become bland. Therefore, it is necessary to use the change of light to create the outline, lines, levels and ideal contrast of composition. As long as we can better follow the requirements of black and white photography when shooting the foreground, we can get better photo quality in the later stage.
4. Use the light and shadow energy to keep the contrast change of the picture more.
The parts with obvious light and shadow features are less affected even if they are converted into black and white. Therefore, when shooting black-and-white material or processing it into black-and-white material later, we should pay more attention to the use of light. When taking black-and-white photos, it is recommended to use photometry, backlight and other angles to shoot, and less to use flat light or diffuse light.
