Appreciation and appreciation of photography art

Appreciating and appreciating a photographic work requires the artistic features of photography first. The first issue of Stindio (1892) beautifully reproduces photography and painting works, and juxtaposes photography with painting and sculpture in the art field. The third issue of the magazine published Bringel's article "The Birth of Photography Art", which is a groundbreaking event in the history of photography. Since then, photography has officially entered the art palace. Photography has its own characteristics. First of all, the main difference between photography and other visual art forms is that photography creation depends on the camera. Consciously, photography is more objective. When creating, no matter how the photographer chooses the theme, he always faces a certain aspect of the material world, which is independent of the photographer's will. Although modern photography technology and digital imaging technology have expanded the space for photographers to create and play, reflecting and revealing real life is still the mainstream and essence of photography creation. As susan sontag said, "The painter's task is to build, and the photographer's task is to reveal." Secondly, the timeliness of photography. Photographers must adapt to their subjects and often rely entirely on them. Bresson's "decisive moment" theory briefly explains the timeliness and instantaneity of photography. He proposed: "Photography mainly captures the whole essence of things in one photo." Therefore, the photographer's thinking must be ahead of the exposure moment. Once the shutter is pressed, he can't change his attention. Thirdly, photography and opportunities are also reflected in good photography creation. This requires photographers' mastery and foresight of the camera. Fourth, reproduce the details. The ability of photography to reproduce all details is beyond the reach of any other visual means. Photography can accurately reproduce the shape, color, light and shadow, volume, space, texture and mechanism of an object, and reflect the beauty of the material, texture and order of the object itself. Fifth, the photographer creates according to the exposure speed of the camera, producing real and illusory effects, thus expressing the photographer's thoughts and ideas. Sixth, to some extent, photographers are "painting with light". These six characteristics of photography are decisive and most important when a photographer designs a picture visually, that is, composes a picture. On the one hand, a photographer should have a keen observation ability of the objective world and a unique foresight ability of a photographer. He can arrange the subject before pressing the shutter, choose the angle, viewpoint and pitch, highlight the theme of the work with lines, blocks and shapes, and make the picture concise and orderly. Appreciating photographic works requires certain conditions. First of all, understanding the knowledge of photography technology is the basic condition for appreciating photographic works. Secondly, the ability to interpret the artistic language of photography, knowing the light, color, perspective, tone, clarity and ambiguity of a photographic work can pave the way for our further appreciation. However, the connotation of many photographic works of art is not as simple as the pictures show, which requires us to explore at a deeper level. Thirdly, an understanding of the background of the author and his works can better help to interpret the artistic language of photographic works, so as to better appreciate a photographic work. Fourthly, only by establishing spiritual communication with the author, carefully understanding the ideas of photographic works and the ideological connotation of the works can we reach the highest level of appreciation of photographic works. To analyze a photographic work, we must first understand the shooting theme of the photographic works. Only by first clarifying the ideological depth and humanistic position of the work according to the theme of the work can we realize the value of the work and its influence on society and determine the ideological taste of the work. Secondly, analyze the performance skills of photographic works, understand the ideological purpose expressed by the photographer's photography skills, and then make a correct and objective analysis. The steps of analyzing a photographic work are divided into reading pictures, understanding the author's shooting intention, interpreting the creator, and then returning to reading pictures; Photographic images are planes with profound meanings and rich information. Since photography is a visual language, the analysis of photographic works should start with looking at pictures. When a photo is placed in front of us, we first want to know what the author is shooting in the picture. What is the subject of shooting and what is the companion; Then we want to know when and where the author shot it; Then we will use the knowledge of photography to infer the author's shooting angle, photography skills, light processing, color processing and so on. Finally, it analyzes how the author uses visual psychology, photographic visual language and composition principle to organize the picture. The author's shooting intention (that is, the theme of the work) is the soul of the photographic work, and the shooting skills and composition principles of photography serve the subject. If you can't understand the photographer's real shooting intention, then the photography skills, expressions and gorgeous pictures you see are just an empty shell without soul. We should use the relevant knowledge we know to know as much as possible about the true connotation of the photographic picture from the front and the inside. Although everyone has their own aesthetic standards and different opinions on the evaluation of the same photographic work, we must first ask ourselves whether we really understand the author's shooting intention. If we collect more background information about the author and the birth of his works, we will try our best to get closer to the author's heart. Interpreting the creator is a higher level and a more difficult stage in the analysis of photographic works, because sometimes we don't have so much information in our hands. But this stage is essential when appreciating the photographer's masterpiece. Understand the creator and communicate with the creator, so as to interpret the master's works carefully and understand the ideological content expressed in the photographic works. A correct understanding of a photographic masterpiece often needs to be repeated from perceptual knowledge to rational knowledge, and then from rational knowledge to perceptual knowledge. When the audience has gone through the first three stages of appreciation, they will have a new understanding of the photos in front of them. To analyze the best state of photographic works, the viewer and the creator should establish spiritual communication, think together and share the joys and sorrows in the process of photographic creation. As a visual art, photography gathers a lot of information in the picture. At the same time, in its historical mission, it also needs people to appreciate it. Because only through people's appreciation can we give full play to its due functions and functions, let the appreciator judge, infect the appreciator through his own artistic image, and reflect his own value with a lot of information in the picture. This is the real function of photography.
