"Deep diving" and "shallow diving" are often mentioned in diving. What is "shallow diving"? What is "deep diving"?
Deep diving mainly refers to scuba diving, which uses compressed air bottles to breathe underwater. Deep diving is to enter the deeper underwater world. You can see the biological scenery and it is certainly more exciting than snorkeling.
Deep diving is more complicated than snorkeling. You need to wear diving equipment and know some diving skills. You must also be accompanied by an instructor under the sea. If you want to experience the fun of deep diving in a deeper way, you can Try to get a diving certificate.
There are two types of shallow diving:
1. Snorkeling, as the name suggests, means that people float on the water. Wearing a snorkel that sticks out of the water allows you to focus on observing the water; wearing flippers makes it easier to move without using your hands. This is snorkeling. People without a diving certificate can also snorkel, but the marine life seen while snorkeling is relatively limited.
2. Free diving refers to the movement of diving as deep as possible without carrying an air bottle and only adjusting breathing and holding your breath through your own lung capacity. Free diving includes free diving activities for the purposes of entertainment, experience, photography, and hunting, as well as competitive extreme breath-holding diving. Free diving is relatively dangerous and requires high physical fitness.
Extended information:
Diving equipment mainly includes masks, snorkels, diving suits, air bottles, diving gloves, diving shoes, BCD buoyancy control devices, regulators, and diving computers. Watches, flippers and a few other things.
1. Mask
This is something that divers must wear. And you can’t be careless when choosing a mask, it must fit your face and prevent water from getting in. The main components of the mask are transparent lenses, skirts, and headbands.
2. Breathing tube
The composition of the breathing tube is very simple, with a tube and a mouthpiece. The body of the snorkel is usually a semi-rigid plastic tube, and the lower mouthpiece is made of silicone. The requirements for a suitable breathing tube also need to suit your face shape.
3. Diving suit
When choosing a diving suit, in addition to its style and brand, look at it. The most important thing is to see its practicality. Diving suits are divided into DiveSkin, WetSuits and DrySuits.
4. BCD buoyancy control device
This is a matter of life and death. The BCD buoyancy control device is a device that helps divers maintain balance in the water and adjust buoyancy by rising and falling. BCD can be roughly divided into three different styles: backpack BCD, vest BCD and system BCD.
5. Regulator
The regulator is composed of a first stage, a second stage, a backup respirator, and a low-pressure pipe. Its function is to convert the high-pressure air in the cylinder into normal-pressure air. The first stage is connected to the gas cylinder, and the second stage is connected to the respirator. The second stage is also divided into yoke and din. The difference lies in whether it has an O ring or not.
6. Instrument cluster
The designs of instruments are diverse. Diving instruments can be divided into diving computers, residual pressure gauges, compasses, thermometers, etc. according to different functions. The four types of diving instruments are introduced below.
Dive computer is a digital instrument device used to check diving time, cylinder remaining capacity, water quality environment and safety limits. There are two styles on the market: wrist strap type and tube type.
The wrist strap type is worn on the hand, and most wrist strap diving computers cannot detect the air pressure in the cylinder. The pipe-connected type is connected to the high-pressure outlet of the breathing regulator through a high-pressure hose, and can directly test the air pressure in the cylinder.
7. Flippers
Flippers are divided into adjustable and set-on types. When diving, most of the time you use the foot-fitting type.
8. Gas cylinders
Gas bottles are divided into ordinary air bottles and high oxygen bottles. Ordinary cylinders can sustain a dive of about 10 meters for about an hour. Nitrox cylinders can last longer because of their low nitrogen content. However, high-oxygen bottles are not necessarily good. Because the oxygen purity is high, there is a certain risk of poisoning. Beginners should not do it randomly.
