How to appreciate Dark butoh?

This book starts with the broken social and cultural background of Japan in the late 1950s, so as to trace the development of Butuo from the date of its birth. Before discussing the influence of Japanese traditional performing arts on Wu Teng's skills, the author first cuts in from different contexts and treats Japanese Wu Teng as a postmodern artistic phenomenon to deal with its aesthetic problems.

The last chapter analyzes the work Garden by Bhutto's combination "Fog Flute House" in a detailed way, and shows how Bhutto's skills are applied concretely. Finally, four Japanese comments on Butuo and three research interviews on Butuo in Taiwan Province province are appended.

The reading guide is provided by Wang He, a senior dramatist and critic in Taiwan Province, and an assistant professor in the Department of Drama, Taipei University of the Arts. Bhutto's performance photos on the cover and inside pages are wonderful works of domestic documentary photographer Xu Bin for many years.
