How to turn off the shutter sound and auxiliary metering of Nikon D40 when shooting?

The D40 is a SLR camera. When shooting, the shutter is pressed, the reflector is raised, and a sound is made. This is caused by the working principle of SLR camera, and it can't be turned off! Do you mean the auxiliary metering, the lights beside the shutter and on the fuselage? That's not auxiliary photometry, is it? That's an auxiliary focus light. If you focus manually, it won't light up. It seems that autofocus can't be turned off!
